WHO'S BUYING CHATGPT ADS?

ChatGPT Ads adoption is accelerating, with roughly 15K companies detected using OpenAI's ad tracking pixel. Early adopters skew toward software and tech, growth-stage companies, and US businesses. Reddit advertisers show the strongest overlap, with 9.6% also using ChatGPT Ads. Companies already investing in ChatGPT visibility are also far more likely to advertise there, suggesting some businesses are beginning to treat ChatGPT as a broader acquisition channel spanning organic visibility, referrals, and paid ads.

THE SECOND PAGE OF GOOGLE WAS A PLACE WEBSITES WENT TO DIE. NOW THEY DIE ON THE FIRST

Search is growing even as the click disappears. Google Search revenue rose 17% to $63.3 billion last quarter, while revenue from the ads it places on publishers' sites fell. The remaining traffic has moved from news, health, and cooking sites to sites that sell products. How-to content no longer pays because the answer strips out the brand, but a buying question can't be answered without naming a product. That makes detailed product documentation the content worth publishing and paywalled expertise the content worth selling.

DON'T MAKE THEM COUNT

Reduce purchase hesitation on ecommerce pages by expressing quantities in the terms shoppers already use. Gush labels its pack sizes by occasions, while The Farmer's Dog shows portions and prices them per day, so shoppers don't have to calculate how much they need or what it costs. Product pages should spell out bundle contents, show prices per relevant unit, and answer “How long will this last?” beside the quantity selector. Watching shoppers choose a quantity can show you where unclear options create hesitation.

WIN REPORT: HOW REWRITING ONE BUTTON INCREASED SIGN-UPS BY 39%

A clearer CTA can increase conversions by making an existing offer easier to understand and less intimidating. Exclaimer changed its homepage button from “Start free trial” to “Try it free for 14 days,” which made the trial length explicit and framed the action as a low-commitment opportunity. The rewrite increased trial sign-ups by 39% without changing anything else on the page. The result shows that improving how an offer is communicated can sometimes outperform creating a new offer.

LINKEDIN SPLIT THE FEED IN TWO (AGAIN)

LinkedIn is testing separate For You and Network feeds, with Network showing only posts from connections and followed accounts. The ranking system itself is unchanged, but connections could become more important for distribution. Comments are now ranked differently for each viewer based on relevance and connections. LinkedIn also launched a Premium proofreading tool and says long-form LinkedIn articles are cited more often in AI search than feed posts.

YOU'RE TAILORING THE WRONG DOCUMENT

Stop tailoring your resume for every job and optimize your LinkedIn profile for the roles you actually want. Compare 3-5 target job postings and identify repeated titles, skills, and responsibilities. Use those terms in your headline, About section, current title, skills, and Open to Work settings. Replace internal job titles with market-standard ones and move relevant experience higher on your profile. Small changes to a few fields can improve recruiter relevance faster than rewriting resumes for every application.

FREELANCER OR FULL-TIME? LET THE WORK DECIDE

Choose a staffing model based on the work, not just the workload or budget. Ongoing work that requires ownership and institutional knowledge points toward a full-time hire. Temporary workload spikes or specialized projects are better suited to freelancers or contractors. Contract-to-hire can bridge the gap when it's unclear whether a need will become permanent. Distinguish a temporary capacity problem from an ongoing role before adding headcount.

CMOS MUST RETHINK ENTRY-LEVEL TALENT AS AI ALTERS MARKETING NEEDS

18% of senior marketing leaders have already eliminated roles due to AI, and a majority of high-performing marketing teams are expected to cut traditional entry-level jobs by 2030. Cutting those roles entirely would break the talent pipeline. Junior hires should instead take on higher-value work earlier, such as evaluating AI outputs and tying recommendations to outcomes, backed by coaching and mentorship.
