OPENAI HAS STARTED LETTING SOME CUSTOMERS PAY ONLY WHEN THE AI WORKS

OpenAI has started testing an arrangement with a limited number of select major accounts where they only pay when the AI actually completes the job. The terms, customers, and prices are all unknown as OpenAI has not announced the test publicly. Token-based pricing has become a problem in the industry as it makes accounting difficult. The industry has started turning to outcome-based pricing as a market standard.

“ZLIBRARY MY BELOVED”: ANTHROPIC STAFF CHATS EXTOLLING PIRACY CITED IN SONY SUIT

Anthropic's mass campaign of illegal torrenting allegedly began in July 2021. Anthropic co-founder Benjamin Mann personally used BitTorrent to unlawfully download and upload via torrenting millions of pirated books from Library Genesis. Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei allegedly approved the torrenting. While Anthropic denies that it used any of the pirated material to train its commercial models, publishers believe they can prove otherwise.
