SPACEX FINALLY GOT EXACTLY WHAT IT NEEDED FROM STARSHIP V2

Starship performed a near-perfect flight test on Monday. The fifth and final flight of Starship's second-generation configuration, the test reached every objective and provided valuable data for the next generation of Starship and Super Heavy. It will likely be at least a few months before SpaceX is ready to launch the next Starship flight. Starship V3 will have larger propellant tanks, upgraded Raptor 3 engines, and an improved payload compartment to support launches of real Starlink satellites.

SIMONMED IMAGING: 1.27M INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY JANUARY 2025 CYBERATTACK

In early 2025, a cyberattack at SimonMed Imaging exposed the data of over 1.27 million patients, including medical and personal information, with the ransomware group Medusa claiming responsibility. Medusa likely received a ransom to prevent data release. SimonMed responded with improved security measures and offered credit monitoring and identity theft protection to impacted people.

S&P GLOBAL BRINGS STABLECOIN RISK RATINGS ONCHAIN VIA CHAINLINK

S&P Global has partnered with Chainlink to publish its Stablecoin Stability Assessments (SSAs) directly onchain, enabling DeFi protocols to integrate real-time risk data into smart contracts. The ratings evaluate stablecoins on factors like asset quality, governance, redeemability, and liquidity, helping institutional users assess fiat-backed stability. The SSAs will debut on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2, before expanding to other networks. Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said the integration brings S&P's trusted framework into digital markets, advancing transparency and compliance as stablecoin adoption scales.

WHY AI COMPANIES ARE RACING TO BUILD A VIRTUAL HUMAN CELL

Biologists have been building mathematical models of cellular processes for decades. There is now more data about the human cell than ever before, but figuring out equations for every process and putting them all together is a monumental task. Researchers are now exploring ways to use AI to create virtual cells. Virtual cells could make it faster and easier to discover new drugs and also give insight into how to treat diseases.

BORING COMPANY TO OPEN FIRST INTERNATIONAL TUNNEL IN DUBAI BY 2026

The first phase of the 'Dubai Loop' is expected to begin operations by the second quarter of 2026. A 17-kilometer underground transport system, the Dubai Loop is designed to move up to 20,000 passengers per hour. The project could turn The Boring Company from an experimental Las Vegas curiosity to a global player in next-generation urban transport. It is unclear whether the Dubai Loop will rely on Tesla vehicles like the Vegas Loop.

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH GITHUB SPEC KIT

The GitHub Spec Kit was born out of research on how to help steer the software development process with large language models more deterministically. It implements the concept of Spec-Driven Development to help developers produce deterministically good software. Spec-Driven Development makes specifications executable, directly generating working implementations rather than just guiding them. This post provides a walkthrough on how to get started with the GitHub Spec Kit.
