SOME IPHONE DUO DISPLAYS ARE CRACKING, SEEMINGLY ALL IN THE SAME WAY

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

Some iPhone Duo owners are reporting inner displays cracking along the center hinge, typically accompanied by a horizontal block of pixels stuck glowing white. Around ten separate cases have surfaced so far, sometimes during initial setup, with a defective or misaligned hinge component emerging as one possible explanation. Most affected Apple Store customers appear to have received replacements, and the small number of reports means it remains unclear whether this represents a broader hardware problem.
