AI CHANGED HOW SPOTIFY BUILDS: WHAT WE LEARNED AND FIXED ABOUT QUALITY AT HIGHER VELOCITY

Spotify says merged changes more than doubled year over year to about 17,000 in August without a corresponding rise in rework or major incidents directly tied to AI-authored code. The pressure moved to verification capacity, prompting stronger review, rollout, observability, rollback, service prioritization, and quality metrics as larger pull requests and rising complexity remain warning signals.

SK HYNIX IS IN TALKS WITH INTEL TO MAKE ITS FIRST US MEMORY CHIPS

SK Hynix is in exploratory talks with Intel over a deal that would have it manufacture memory chips in the US for the first time, with one scenario having it lease part of Intel's long-delayed Ohio campus and another forming a joint venture with Intel and major cloud providers to lock in steady memory supply. Intel's Ohio site, announced back in 2022 at up to $100 billion, has slipped to a 2030-2031 start, so landing SK Hynix as a tenant would give Intel's foundry business exactly the marquee customer it's been chasing, while giving SK Hynix a way to actually produce chips domestically rather than just package them, as it's already doing at its $4 billion Indiana facility under construction.

HACKERS PUBLISH THOUSANDS OF DRIVERS' DATA AFTER BREACHING FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE DATABASE

ShinyHunters published hundreds of thousands of files stolen from Florida's DAVID vehicle and driver database after alleging the state agency refused to pay a ransom. FLHSMV confirmed that attackers used police credentials stored on a personal device. Leaked ownership records include names, addresses, buyer and seller details, and VINs. Some files also contain Social Security numbers, passports, and immigration documents.

PUBLISH WEAVE TOOLS TO THE FIGMA COMMUNITY

Figma now lets users build custom Weave tools—generative AI workflows created in Figma Weave—and publish them to the Figma Community for others to use directly on the canvas in Figma Design. These tools support repeatable image and vector generation at scale, and people can browse the Community to see tools others have built. While any output type, including video and 3D renderings, can be published to the Community, only image and vector generation tools work within Figma Design itself.

WHERE LOCAL STABLECOINS ACTUALLY LIVE

In analyzing 34 non-USD stablecoins across 189 chain deployments and found contract counts, supply, and transfer volume, we see three different stories. Ethereum holds 25% of contracts but 48% of supply, with supply per contract around $16 million versus $300,000 on BSC, while top tokens each concentrate trading on one or two chains regardless of where they're deployed: EURC moves 85% of its volume on Base, EURe holds two-thirds of both supply and volume on Gnosis, and ruble-pegged A7A5 carries $461 million in supply, 99% on Tron. Chain selection tracks an issuer's first customers and regional ties rather than fees or throughput, and that contract counts alone overstate how "multi-chain" a stablecoin really is.
