NVIDIA'S GTC WILL MARK AN AI CHIP PIVOT. HERE'S WHY THE CPU IS TAKING CENTER STAGE

Nvidia plans to unveil details about its agentic optimized CPUs at its annual GTC conference kicking off today. CPUs are becoming a bottleneck in the AI and agentic workflow. Agentic AI requires a lot of general compute power as they move large amounts of data around for AI workflows. The CPU market growth rate could exceed GPU growth by 2028. Leading CPU providers have warned customers in China of supply shortages, and lead times and prices have already increased.

OPENCLAW AI AGENT FLAWS COULD ENABLE PROMPT INJECTION AND DATA EXFILTRATION

China's CNCERT warned that OpenClaw, an open-source self-hosted AI agent, poses significant risks due to weak default settings and privileged system access. These vulnerabilities can enable indirect prompt injection attacks, where malicious instructions embedded in web content can force the agent to exfiltrate sensitive data via attacker-constructed URLs shown as link previews in Telegram or Discord — no user click needed. Other attack points include malicious skills uploaded to ClawHub that can execute arbitrary commands or install malware, instruction misinterpretation leading to irreversible data deletion, and threat actors distributing trojanized OpenClaw installers on GitHub that deliver malware such as Atomic Stealer, Vidar Stealer, and the Golang proxy GhostSocks via ClickFix-style lures. Recommended mitigation steps include blocking OpenClaw's default management port from internet exposure, isolating the service in a container, avoiding plaintext credential storage, and restricting skill installations to trusted channels only.

$50M TRADE INCIDENT ON AAVE AND COW PROTOCOL

A collateral swap executed through Aave v3's front end (powered by CoW Protocol) on March 12 resulted in a user selling ~$50M of aUSDT for ~324 aAAVE tokens at a catastrophic loss due to compounding failures: a fill-or-kill order on an illiquid pair at extreme size, a stale 12M gas ceiling that rejected better-priced solver quotes, and the winning solver failing to execute onchain twice before abandoning the order. The remaining solver's degraded bid executed with significant backrun activity capturing most of the lost value within the same block. CoW Protocol and Aave are now exploring mandatory cooling-off periods and split-order prompts for high-impact trades, while investigating a possible mempool leak from the private RPC submission.

CHINA APPROVES FIRST BRAIN IMPLANT FOR COMMERCIAL USE

China has approved its first-ever invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) product, a device for adult patients who are partially paralyzed due to spinal cord injury. In trials, the device helped patients improve their ability to hold and grab objects with their hands. BCI companies receive backing from the state as the technology is one of the six strategic industries of the future in its latest five year plan. The Chinese government has pledged to streamline regulatory review and set up reimbursement guidelines.

COMPREHENSION DEBT — THE HIDDEN COST OF AI GENERATED CODE

Comprehension debt is a hidden cost to human intelligence and memory that results from excessive reliance on AI and automation. It is the growing gap between how much code exists in a system and how much of it any human being genuinely understands. It can lead to teams not being able to explain why design decisions had been made or how different parts of the system are supposed to work together. The debt has to be paid sooner or later, and interest accrues rapidly.

THE "NIGHT SHIFT" AGENTIC WORKFLOW

This post outlines an agentic workflow that allows developers and agents to work together around the clock. The developer takes the 'day shift', while AI agents work overnight. The developer prepares as much as they can during the day shift for the agents to work autonomously as they rest, finishing tasks by the next morning. The workflow has helped the author spend less time babysitting and much more time thinking about the problems they need to solve.
