TOKENIZED STOCK TRADING SURGED 288% IN JULY

Tokenized equity trading posted a record $11.3 billion in July, up 288% month-over-month, but Binance's QQQB token alone accounted for $9.27 billion, or 82% of that total. Excluding QQQB, the sector contracted 30% from June, with xStocks falling from $1.55 billion to $335 million, Ondo recording $792 million, and Backpack $479 million. QQQB's surge traced to zero maker fees through August 31 and a VIP volume multiplier launched July 23 that counts eligible users' trades at three times the traded value. The underlying Invesco QQQ ETF fell 6.6% during July amid AI and semiconductor volatility, placing the record on-chain volume in the context of fee incentives rather than rising directional demand.

TEMPO PLANS TO SUPPORT BLACKROCK'S NEW MONEY MARKET FUND

BlackRock's final BRSRV prospectus names Tempo as a supported blockchain for its OnChain Shares, a government money market fund seeking a stable $1.00 NAV via Treasuries and repos, with Securitize Transfer Agent maintaining the official shareholder record through a permissioned system. The fund intends to qualify its OnChain Shares as eligible reserve assets for GENIUS Act-permitted stablecoin issuers, pending regulatory interpretation, connecting regulated cash management to the same network used for onchain payments.

UNISWAP LAUNCHES TOKEN DISCOVERY TAB AGGREGATING TOP LAUNCHPADS

Uniswap has rolled out "Launches" (beta), a new web app tab that aggregates token launches from Bankr, Pons, Long.xyz, and other launchpads into a single feed. Robinhood Chain is supported at launch, and additional chains are on the roadmap. More than 340K tokens launched through Uniswap-powered launchpads on Robinhood Chain in July alone, generating billions in trading volume. The tab lets traders filter by launchpad and sort by 24-hour volume, liquidity, recency, or trending status. Token teams receive distribution from the moment they add liquidity, while traders gain consolidated discovery across a fragmented launchpad market.

METADAO: GOVERNANCE THROUGH PREDICTION MARKETS AFTER 40 PROPOSALS

MetaDAO runs governance through conditional markets where traders forecast whether a proposal will increase token value over a 3-day TWAP, with the first 24 hours excluded from the resolution average to prevent manipulation. The market has enforced discipline across all 40 proposals: it rejected OTC deals from Theia Research and DBA/Variant at a discount, forcing Theia to re-propose at a 38% premium before passing, and turned down a MetaDAO memecoin launchpad bid. Jito, Flash, and Sanctum have adopted the framework for major decisions, including Jito's fee switch and Flash's revenue-sharing vote to stakers. The onchain, instruction-baked structure gives token holders binding control over treasury flows, a check absent from Uniswap, Aave, and ENS governance, where frontend fees have accumulated at labs entities.

ONDO FINANCE WEIGHS ACQUISITION WORTH UP TO $500 MILLION

Ondo Finance, founded by former Goldman Sachs executives and managing $3.5 billion in tokenized Treasuries and equities, is exploring a wealthtech acquisition valued at $250 million to $500 million. No advisers have been retained, and the firm says it isn't in active acquisition talks, placing the process at an early exploratory stage. The wealthtech focus signals Ondo's intent to move beyond tokenization infrastructure into distribution and wealth management channels. The potential deal fits a Q2 2026 M&A wave that totaled $12.9 billion in disclosed deal value, with Kraken's $550 million Bitnomial purchase and Bullish's $4.2 billion Equiniti acquisition as recent reference points.

TETHER'S EXCESS RESERVES FALL BY MORE THAN $4 BILLION

Tether's excess reserves fell from $8.2 billion to $4.1 billion in Q2 2026, as Bitcoin and gold each depreciated over 10%, compressing mark-to-market values on its $5.8 billion Bitcoin position and $18.8 billion precious metals book. Net operating profit of $1.5 billion for Q2 2026 compares to $4.9 billion in net profit for Q2 2025, with H1 2026 producing a negative $3.2 billion financial result that implies Q2 losses exceeding $4 billion. Tether reported net operating profit as its headline metric, a figure that strips out unrealized asset value changes, a framing choice that softens the impact of mark-to-market drawdowns on its reserves. USDT's user base reached a record 650 million, with CEO Paolo Ardoino characterizing Q2 2026 as a "great quarter despite highly volatile global markets."
