ANTHROPIC INTEGRATES INTERACTIVE MCP APPS INTO CLAUDE

Anthropic has introduced MCP app integration into Claude's AI assistant, enabling seamless use of tools like Asana, Slack, Figma, and Box within its interface. This update enhances real-time interaction, setting Claude apart by embedding live app experiences directly into chats, boosting workflow efficiency. The move supports open standards and encourages developer-created integrations, aligning with Anthropic's ecosystem goals.

PORTING 100K LINES FROM TYPESCRIPT TO RUST USING CLAUDE CODE IN A MONTH

This dev ported the ~100k line "Pokemon Showdown" codebase from JavaScript to Rust in about a month using Claude Code. The project required overcoming technical and operational challenges, including bypassing Claude's sandbox, automating continuous input, and managing large context windows. It also needed "babysitting" and iterative refinement. The resulting Rust codebase was completed through 5,000 commits.

PALO ALTO NETWORKS PATCHES FIREWALLS AFTER DISCOVERY OF A NEW DENIAL-OF-SERVICE FLAW

Palo Alto Networks has patched CVE-2026-0227 (CVSS 7.7), a high-severity DoS vulnerability in PAN-OS affecting firewalls with GlobalProtect gateway or portal enabled that allows unauthenticated attackers to force devices into maintenance mode. A PoC already exists, and the flaw mirrors CVE-2024-3393 from late 2024, which was exploited as a zero-day before patches were available. Organizations running PAN-OS versions 10.2 through 12.1 with GlobalProtect enabled should apply patches immediately, while most Prisma Access customers have already been automatically updated.

BITCOIN SLIPS AS US SHUTDOWN FEARS TRIGGER RISK-OFF MOVE

Bitcoin fell near $87,000 as rising fears of a potential US government shutdown pushed investors into a broader risk-off stance, weighing on crypto alongside traditional markets. Analysts point to political deadlock, increasing shutdown probabilities on Polymarket, and the worst week of US spot Bitcoin ETF outflows since February as signs that macro uncertainty, not crypto-specific factors, is driving near-term price pressure.

SEEING LIKE A SEDAN

Tesla robotaxis navigate using an array of cameras, while Waymos uses LIDAR technology along with a suite of complementary sensors. Tesla challenged convention, but it has quietly reintroduced radar, and it is possible it may bring in other modalities. The paths for the two companies seem likely to converge in the future. This means that instead of debating whether cameras or LIDAR is better, regulators should be asking whether robotaxis in general are as safe as human drivers.
