WHY WE BUILT OUR OWN BACKGROUND AGENT

Inspect is a custom background coding agent developed by Ramp that autonomously writes, verifies, and debugs code with the same context and tools a human engineer would use. The agent operates in fast, sandboxed VMs with full development environments, integrates with many existing tools, and supports interfaces like Slack, web, and Chrome extensions. Inspect was adopted quickly internally, writing approximately 30% of merged pull requests.

EVEREST RANSOMWARE CLAIMS BREACH AT NISSAN, SAYS 900GB OF DATA STOLEN

The Everest ransomware group claimed to have breached Nissan Motor Corporation, posting screenshots on their dark web leak site showing directory structures with 900GB of allegedly stolen data, including dealership information, financial records, and operational documentation in .csv, .txt, .pgp, and .xls formats. The group issued a five-day deadline before public release, continuing their aggressive 2025-2026 campaign that has targeted ASUS, Chrysler, AT&T, and other major organizations. This marks Nissan's third significant security incident in recent years, following the Qilin ransomware attack on its design subsidiary and the 2023 breach affecting over 100,000 individuals.

SENATE UNVEILS UPDATED MARKET STRUCTURE BILL

A bipartisan market structure manager's amendment from Senate Banking Chair Tim Scott would ban paying interest or yield for holding payment stablecoins while allowing activity-based incentives tied to transacting, staking, liquidity provision, or posting collateral. The bill includes a Lummis-Wyden developer liability shield, drew threats from firms like Coinbase over tougher restrictions, omits a proposed ethics clause related to the Trump family's crypto ventures, and is heading to a committee markup as senators work to reconcile competing committee bills.

META SEEKS TO DOUBLE RAY-BAN GLASSES OUTPUT AFTER SURGE IN DEMAND

Meta and EssilorLuxottica are discussing potentially doubling production capacity to 20 million units or more by the end of the year to capture growing demand and head off rivals. They may potentially further establish the capability of producing more than 30 million units if demand justifies such a move. No final decisions have been made yet. The talks signal confidence that smart glasses can move beyond early adopters and reach mass-market scale.

AS SPACEX WORKS TOWARD 50K STARLINK SATELLITES, CHINA EYES DEPLOYING 200K

China's Institute of Radio Spectrum Utilization and Technological Innovation has filed a request with the International Telecommunications Union to operate a satellite constellation with a total of 193,428 satellites. The request far exceeds the ambitions of other current constellation projects. The Chinese constellations plan to use a wide range of radio frequencies and will be deployed across numerous orbits from 300 to 600 kilometers, as well as higher objects at around 20,000 kilometers. The US Federal Communications Commission views China's satellite ambitions as a national security threat.
