US-RUN TIKTOK TO LICENSE ALGORITHM, WHITE HOUSE SAYS

Oracle will oversee the security of Americans' data and monitor changes and updates to TikTok's recommendation technology under a new deal. A copy of the recommendation engine that powers the app will be licensed from China to an American investor group that will oversee the app in the US. Oracle, along with private equity firm Silver Lake, will also invest in the new American TikTok. The US-run TikTok will work to retrain the algorithm on users' data in the US. China will not have access to the data.

OPENPOKE: RECREATING POKE'S ARCHITECTURE

This dev reverse-engineered Poke, a popular iMessage assistant chatbot, and developed OpenPoke, a working prototype of its multi-agent architecture. OpenPoke uses an Interaction Agent to manage specialized Execution Agents that handle tasks like email management and setting reminders. The system incorporates multi-tiered memory, including conversation logs, agent logs, and email as external truth. The assistant separates personality from execution, while recognizing personality as an important product element.

MALICIOUS PYPI PACKAGES DELIVER SILENTSYNC RAT

Threat actors uploaded two malicious packages, sisaws and secmeasure, to PyPI that typosquat legitimate libraries and deliver the SilentSync RAT. This malware is downloaded from Pastebin and maintains persistence through registry keys, crontab modifications, or launch agents, depending on the operating system. SilentSync communicates with a hardcoded C2 server at 200.58.107[.]25 over HTTP and steals browser data, including credentials, history, autofill data, and cookies from Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Firefox while also enabling remote command execution and file exfiltration.

The move comes as Hong Kong positions itself as a global hub for digital assets, with 77 firms expressing interest in stablecoin licenses, even while Beijing maintains a cautious stance. The CSRC's pause reflects worries about firms making claims without sufficiently strong backing, amid a booming RWA market that could reach $2 trillion by 2030.

Nvidia and OpenAI have a new partnership that includes plans for an enormous data center buildout and a $100 billion investment by Nvidia into OpenAI. The deal will allow OpenAI to build and deploy at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems for its artificial intelligence data centers to train and run its next generation of models. It is a bet on continued model improvements that runs contrary to the view of some skeptics, who say model development is hitting a wall. Blue Alchemist uses a molten regolith electrolysis reactor, which uses electrical current to separate oxygen from metals without water, toxic chemicals, or carbon emissions. Blue Origin is on track to scale the system to make lunar landings up to 60% cheaper and reduce fuel-cell and battery masses by up to 70%.
