WHAT A RULING TO FIX GOOGLE'S SEARCH MONOPOLY MEANS FOR THE COMPANY

Google is positioned to keep its Search business running largely without interruption. The company will have to share more of its data with competitors and create an oversight committee to monitor its business practices, but it can continue many of the operations that the government challenged in the antitrust lawsuit, including its payments to Apple. Google sharing its data could help its competitors improve their search products. The company will not be forced to divest its Chrome browser.

THE FASTEST SITE IN THE TOUR DE FRANCE

An analysis of the web performance of bike manufacturer websites participating in the 2025 Tour de France was done using a proprietary CrRRUX score based on Core Web Vitals. Merida, Factor, and Giant were the fastest, while Ridley, Orbea, and Trek ranked the slowest, showing a disconnect between brand prestige and website speed. The analysis also went into the technical aspects of each site, highlighting issues like render-blocking resources, client-side rendering, and unoptimized images.

SUPPLY-CHAIN ATTACK HITS ZSCALER VIA SALESLOFT DRIFT, LEAKING CUSTOMER INFO

Zscaler confirmed that a threat actor compromised OAuth tokens via the Salesloft Drift integration from August 8 to 18, exposing business contacts and Salesforce data. Though core infrastructure remained secure, the breach revealed names, emails, job titles, phone numbers, and licensing info. The attack extended beyond Salesforce, targeting AWS keys and Snowflake tokens across multiple organizations. Zscaler revoked Drift's access and rotated API tokens.

SEC, CFTC CLEAR REGISTERED FIRMS' TRADING OF SPOT CRYPTO

The SEC and CFTC issued a joint statement clarifying that registered venues – designated contract markets (DCMs), foreign board of trade (FBOTs), and SEC-registered national securities exchanges (NSEs) – can facilitate trading of certain spot crypto asset products and should engage staff on implementation details. Positioned under the SEC's “Project Crypto” and the CFTC's “crypto sprint,” this is a shift toward integrating spot crypto markets into existing regulatory frameworks ahead of Congress's market-structure legislation. While no specific assets were named, the agencies emphasized applying fair and orderly market principles and addressing prior gaps in oversight. If sustained, this coordination could accelerate institutional participation and expand regulated access to crypto spot trading in the US.

FUEL SUPPLY IS A BOTTLENECK FOR STARSHIP—HERE'S HOW SPACEX WILL GET AROUND IT

Starship's scale dwarfs that of other rockets. It has a capacity for more than a million gallons of super-cold liquid methane and liquid oxygen propellants. While SpaceX aims to eventually be able to launch at least one Starship a day, there are numerous bottlenecks to achieving such a fast launch cadence. One of these is simple logistics: it takes more than 200 tanker trucks traveling from distant refineries to deliver all of the fuel needed for a Starship launch, which takes time, emits pollution, and clogs roadways.

THERE'S A GAP BETWEEN AI CODING DEMOS AND DAILY REALITY

Some people may find it difficult to get the results they see others getting with AI tools. This article discusses several tools and specific techniques that have helped developers increase their productivity. These techniques are scattered across documentation, blog posts, and threads, so finding them requires knowing what to look for. The article covers requirements and planning, UI, prototyping, coding, debugging, testing, QA, and cross-stage techniques.
