AI AGENTS

AI agents today are much more useful for writing code compared to six months ago. This developer uses a combination of Cursor, Claude Code, and v0, each working well in specific tasks like general programming, agentic loops, and UI design, respectively. Max effectiveness comes from using these agents alongside deterministic verification, like tests and typed languages, to allow AI agents to "self-heal" and correct errors.

AI WON'T GROW GREAT ENGINEERS — UNLESS WE USE IT RIGHT

AI is integrating into engineering workflows, offering productivity boosts. However, over-reliance on AI can lead to shallow reasoning, reduced technical ownership, and a decline in learning. Good AI integration focuses on automating repetitive tasks, accelerating prototyping, and validating ideas while still making sure engineers understand and own the final result.
