CHATGPT FUTURE JUST REVEALED — GET READY FOR A ‘SUPER ASSISTANT'

The Justice Department's antitrust case against Google revealed a heavily redacted document from OpenAI from late 2024 that detailed the company's internal strategy and its goal to create a de facto 'interface to the internet'. While much of the document was blacked out, it was clear how much OpenAI expects ChatGPT to revolutionize the internet. The company planned to spend the first half of 2025 building out ChatGPT as a super assistant and then shift in the second half to generating monetizable demand. One of the company's cornerstone strategies is to build out more data centers to keep up with ChatGPT's ballooning user base.

SAMSUNG NEARS WIDE-RANGING DEAL WITH PERPLEXITY FOR AI FEATURES

Samsung and Perplexity are nearing a deal that would put search technology from the artificial intelligence startup at the forefront of Samsung devices. The deal would mean Perplexity's app and assistant would be preloaded on upcoming Samsung devices and its search features will be integrated into the Samsung web browser. Perplexity's technology may be integrated into Samsung's Bixby virtual assistant. The deal will likely be announced as early as this year with the feature integrations starting from the Galaxy S26 phone line slated to launch in the first half of 2026.

PROGRESSIVE JSON

Most apps send JSON all at once, forcing the client to wait until everything is ready, but what if we streamed it progressively, like how progressive JPEGs load from blurry to clear? A "Progressive JSON" approach is explored here that sends data breadth-first with placeholders, letting the client process what's ready and treat missing parts as Promises. This is similar to how React Server Components stream UI and use Suspense to control visual loading states.

EXPLOIT DETAILS FOR MAX SEVERITY CISCO IOS XE FLAW NOW PUBLIC

Cisco disclosed vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-20188) in IOS XE for Catalyst Wireless Controllers and APs. The vendor indicated that a hard-coded JSON Web Token (JWT) allows unauthenticated remote attackers to upload files, perform path traversal, and execute commands with root privileges. CVE-2025-20188 is only dangerous if the 'Out-of-Band AP Image Download' feature is enabled on the Wireless Controllers.

VIRAL WHALE LIQUIDATED AFTER BILLIONS IN RISKY BETS

James Wynn, a high-leverage trader on Hyperliquid known for billion-dollar bets, was fully liquidated after his $1.25 billion BTC long incurred a $37 million loss when prices slid below $105,000. He briefly switched to memecoins like PEPE and cycled through assets including ETH, SUI, TRUMP, and FARTCOIN, at one point holding an $85 million unrealized gain. Despite ending the month with just $23 in his account, Wynn's X account maintained confidence, vowing to “run it back” and embrace high-risk plays.

IT'S WAYMO'S WORLD. WE'RE ALL JUST RIDING IN IT

Waymo cracked a million total paid rides in late 2023. By the end of 2024, it reached five million, and it is on track to blow past 20 million full autonomous trips by the end of the year. The company's service is only available in a few cities right now, but it might be available everywhere sooner than expected. The competition in the industry is just getting started, with Tesla planning to reveal a robotaxi service in the coming weeks.

CLAUDE CODE: AN ANALYSIS (BOOK)

This is a report on Claude Code generated by Claude Opus 4 with the help of almost all of the major flagship models. Claude Code is an agentic coding tool with a few new novel components. It has a streaming architecture that handles real-time model responses, tool execution, and UI updates, safety systems that provide security without disrupting workflow, a tool design that bridges AI reasoning and system execution, and prompt engineering that reliably controls complex model behavior. The report covers the foundation of Claude Code's architecture, data structures and the information architecture, control flow and the orchestration engine, tools and the execution engine, and much more.
