ALLOWED TO WORK FROM HOME, A NEW POLL SHOWS

According to a recent poll from Washington Post and Ipsos, over half of fully remote workers in the US would take a pay cut to keep working from home. A majority of workers would return to the office for a salary bump. 80% of workers polled would go to the office a couple of days a week for more pay. Several tech leaders, including Elon Musk, have taken a harsh stance on remote work. Workers in some companies, like Amazon, Disney, and Starbucks, have started petitions and protests to reverse return-to-office policies.

AN UPDATE ON TOKENIZED SECURITIES

Tokenized securities, digital versions of traditional assets like T-bills, ETFs, or stocks, are gaining traction with a market cap of over $220 million, facilitated largely by platforms like Ondo and Matrixdock. They offer a way to invest in low-risk traditional financial instruments using crypto assets like USDC, attracting on-chain treasury capital. Most tokenized assets are issued on Ethereum due to its large capital base. While the process of investing in these assets is not as efficient as the TradFi system yet, it’s easy to envision infrastructure being developed that will make it orders of magnitude more efficient in the future.

LONG AWAITED RWKV PAPER

Transformers displaced recurrent neural networks as the primary tool for most text based tasks. However, these Transformers are expensive and limited in context due to the architecture. RWKV is an attention variant (vaguely reminiscent of linear attention) that claims to have the best of both Transformers and recurrent models. The Discord is quite active, but there hasn't been a formal write up of this hyped model. This paper is the first to explain the model in depth.
