Suppose a supplier turns down an order for 5,000 parts because it can only ship 2,000 immediately. The buyer can wait a month for the rest, but nobody asks. Agents representing both sides could work out a split delivery and save the order. Walmart already uses AI to negotiate individually with smaller suppliers. Those suppliers used to get standard terms because the savings were too small to justify negotiating each deal.
