ROR CREATOR SPARKS NEW “DEATH OF CODING BY HAND” DEBATE

Summary from the TLDR newsletter

David Heinemeier Hansson, the creator of Ruby on Rails, recently announced that 37signals, a company known for its software craft, was done with writing code by hand. The maturation of AI tools has made it possible for the company to embrace a future where coding by hand is almost entirely absent. AI creates new business models and revenue streams and disrupts traditional software. Companies are now investing in innovation and are willing to pay top-of-market for software engineers who can help them build AI products or become AI-native.
