The future cloud growth of Microsoft, Google, and Amazon is increasingly dependent on Anthropic and OpenAI sustaining enormous, largely venture-funded compute spending. The two AI companies may need to spend more than $200 billion on compute in 2027 and raise roughly $250 billion to $300 billion to finance it, creating substantial risk if end-customer returns fail to materialize.
