ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM DESIGN

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

System design is often taught through domain-specific solutions, making it difficult to identify shared principles that span across fields like databases, operating systems, and architecture. A unified, concise vocabulary of design principles would help clarify trade-offs, support cross-domain comparisons, and improve communication among students, researchers, and practitioners.
