vphone-cli lets researchers boot a virtual iPhone on Apple Silicon Macs using Apple's Virtualization.framework and Private Cloud Compute research VM infrastructure. A single command handles the full pipeline from download through DFU restore to first boot. The tool includes five patch variants with increasing levels of security bypass, and exposes a control socket for screenshots, touch input, and clipboard access, which can be used for AI-driven end-to-end testing via a companion MCP server.
checkstyle is an open-source static analysis tool for enforcing Java coding standards and best practices during development and CI. It runs configurable checks over source code, integrates through Maven or a standalone JAR, and can flag issues such as fall-through behavior, naming, formatting, imports, and other style or quality violations as part of an automated build.
Two Adobe platform engineers built a predictive Kubernetes autoscaler after a production incident left users seeing 15-20% error rates because reactive scaling fired too late to help. The system uses a Bi-LSTM model embedded in a Go controller binary to forecast demand 10 minutes ahead, running inference every 60 seconds against the past hour of Prometheus metrics. A graduated scaler caps scale-out at 20 pods per minute to avoid overwhelming the scheduler, and a burst detector adds a heuristic safety net for traffic spikes the model wasn't trained on. In hackathon validation, 23 out of 23 checks passed, with the predictor catching simulated spike patterns 11 minutes early.
AI scrapers now account for an estimated 98% of traffic to git.kernel.org, generating roughly 6 million daily requests and consuming 14–16 CPU cores across its five geo-distributed nodes just to render commits as HTML. Even proof-of-work challenges through Anubis only partially contain the load, forcing kernel.org to disable expensive anonymous features and reduce the number of crawlable URLs.
Everyone's using AI, but without team-wide coordination, you get duplicated effort, siloed knowledge, and handoff friction. This Atlassian and AWS guide lays out an AI flow for real ROI. Grab yours
The Kubernetes Default Alarms Quick Start provides configurable cluster and namespace monitoring through OCI Marketplace and Resource Manager, standardizing alerting and routing by team ownership.
Pulumi has released version 4.34.0 of its Kubernetes provider, with the main addition being a new --extension flag that lets users extend the provider with any Kubernetes Custom Resource Definition by passing its manifest file to Pulumi.

RT Agents passively analyze Harness CD pipelines and Kubernetes workloads to detect resilience risks before production, then recommend, generate, and run chaos experiments or load tests to validate them. New capabilities include resilience dashboards, Resilience Scores, Java, JavaScript, and Python load testing, simplified Kubernetes onboarding, and a free plan.
Grafana 13.2 expands shared saved queries with search, RBAC, command palette access, and Terraform provisioning, while the new View panel sidebar improves exploration without edit permissions. Additional updates include Git Sync enhancements, a refreshed homepage, secure cloud data source authentication, improved variable editing, and dashboard organization.
Kubernetes v1.37, themed "Garhwal" after a Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, India, ships 67 enhancements: 16 promoted to Stable, 23 to Beta, 27 entering Alpha, and 1 deprecation or removal. Notable Stable graduations include the metrics.k8s.io API, which spent nearly nine years in Beta, and KYAML, a safer YAML subset for Kubernetes. The release also enables memory QoS and concurrent watch object decoding by default, and brings HorizontalPodAutoscaler scale-to-zero support to Beta. The 15-week cycle ran from May 18 to August 26, drawing contributions from up to 212 companies and 1,754 individuals.
AI is making code abundant and shifting software development's central constraint from implementation to trust. As agents increasingly handle the lifecycle, enterprises need durable architecture for context, verification, governance, evidence, and organizational ownership across people, agents, and models.
Agentic AI expands enterprise security risks because agents can access sensitive systems and act autonomously, creating threats such as prompt injection and tool poisoning. Organizations should shift from simply blocking access to governance through secure-by-default design, agent identity and permissions, centralized oversight, and human approval for critical actions.
OpenSearchCon North America [11] is where technical experts share how they run open source search, observability, and infrastructure at scale. You'll get real production lessons, two hands-on workshops (build an OpenTelemetry stack and an agentic AI search app yourself), and a $250 certification exam voucher just for attending in person.
Archify is a Node.js tool for Cursor, Claude Code, Codex CLI, and OpenCode that takes a codebase or system description and compiles it into an interactive HTML/SVG diagram. Agents produce typed JSON, and Archify converts it deterministically into a self-contained HTML file with motion, export options, and shareable URLs.
This repository is a curated set of agent skills for AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, covering five categories: web video presentations, web design, image generation, local knowledge retrieval, and article editing. Each skill is a self-contained folder built around a SKILL.md file that the agent loads on demand.
Tailcat is a userspace networking tool that reuses Tailscale's WireGuard data plane without requiring the Tailscale control plane, account, root access, or routing-table changes. Two peers exchange a short connection token out of band, bootstrap through DERP, and then upgrade to a direct peer-to-peer UDP path when NAT traversal succeeds. It can also tunnel TCP ports, SSH, SOCKS5 traffic, and exit-node access.
Cloudflare cut memory usage across its Big Pineapple DNS platform by roughly 100 terabytes after five successive changes to how cache entries are stored. The optimizations reduced the per-entry memory footprint from 953 bytes to 420 bytes, a 56% reduction across more than 250 billion cache entries. At p99, per-instance resident memory fell from 9.3 GB to 5.3 GB. Cache insert throughput also rose 43% and lookup latency dropped 19%, as the changes reduced allocations and improved memory locality.
Building an AI factory on Kubernetes means solving two problems at once: keeping GPU utilization high and keeping tenants from interfering with each other on the same hardware. The stack to do it now exists mostly from CNCF and open source projects, including DRA (GA in Kubernetes 1.34), HAMi for software-based GPU partitioning, vCluster for per-tenant virtual control planes, KServe for inference, and OpenCost for per-tenant chargeback. Network and storage isolation increasingly get pushed into hardware, with DPUs such as NVIDIA BlueField handling enforcement off the host CPU.
Tech stack complexity is out of control, and the last thing you need is a bigger ‘stack'. Microsoft Azure gives you a unified view of applications, cloud resources, and AI—so you can ship more software
Platform teams building golden paths for AI agents need intentional execution patterns, machine-consumable contracts, and dispatch controls rather than the conventions built for human developers.
Amazon EC2 turns 20 years old today. Jeff Barr's original blog post in 2006 introduced a single instance type, m1.small, in one region, billed by the hour. The service has since grown from that one instance type to over 1,200, spanning 39 regions globally.
GitHub's 7-hour-and-47-minute outage on August 17 began when record traffic overwhelmed a critical Central US infrastructure component that failed to scale, triggering authentication failures and cascading service disruption. Recovery was complicated by a client-side retry loop in Copilot. GitHub is responding with stricter retry budgets and timeouts, more capacity, fewer shared dependencies, and continued migration to Azure, which now serves about 58% of platform load.
DigitalOcean patched its entire hypervisor fleet against two separate guest-to-host vulnerabilities within a single month, reporting zero confirmed customer-facing impact in both cases. The first, a KVM nested virtualization flaw called Januscape (CVE-2026-53359), was publicly disclosed July 6 and fully remediated across all hypervisors by July 14, eight days later. The second affected roughly 1,600 AMD hypervisors across twelve regions and required a kernel update and reboot on every machine, a harder constraint than the first, yet the entire fleet was patched by August 5, one day before AMD published its public bulletin.
Acadia eliminates the N+1 query problem by design: its query language has no general-purpose loops or recursion, so developers cannot accidentally turn a relationship lookup into one query followed by N additional database calls. Inspired by Datalog, Acadia instead expresses relationships through operations like intersect that compile into set-based SQL, while also guaranteeing that queries terminate in polynomial time relative to the size of the data.
AI agents have transformed software development but production operations still rely on human-centered on-call systems that constrain velocity. The proposed model uses agents to continuously detect, investigate, fix, and prevent incidents, escalating only genuinely novel problems while shifting engineers from first responders to decision makers.
Hister is a private search engine that indexes the full contents of pages you visit and files you store locally. It works through a web interface, terminal, or an AI assistant connected via MCP. By default, it has no telemetry and no cloud sync, and the browser extension sends indexed content only to the server you configure. Optional semantic search requires you to choose your own embeddings endpoint.
Apache Maka is a local-first AI agent workspace that runs models and tools through a sandboxed runtime while keeping sessions, tool calls, results, and recovery data on the user's machine by default. It provides desktop, CLI/TUI, and evaluation interfaces, supports built-in file and shell tools, records durable execution histories for crash recovery and context trimming, and can connect to cloud APIs, local models, or compatible gateways.
A proof-of-concept bot named Octopus Healer sends Kubernetes alert context to an AI model, which selects a predefined remediation type and fills runbook parameters rather than generating executable commands. Octopus Deploy then executes the runbook only after an operator reviews and approves it in Slack, preserving audit trails and existing permissions.
Atlassian has built an automated root cause analysis system designed to cut the time engineers spend diagnosing production incidents across its hundreds of microservices. The system pulls anomaly signals from metrics, distributed traces, and logs, aligns them on a shared timeline, and traverses a service dependency graph built from OpenTelemetry span data to generate ranked hypotheses about fault origin.
AI coding tools can create an “expert novice” problem: developers are expected to use agents effectively before they have built the judgment needed to evaluate their output, while heavy reliance on generated code can bypass the struggle that develops that judgment in the first place. A better learning model is to use AI as a tutor or Socratic partner rather than a code generator, preserving the planning, debugging, and trial-and-error that turns experience into expertise.
Build a secrets management program [14] that makes life simpler for developers and administrators. Use 1Password [14] to discover, secure, govern, and audit credentials.
Jenkins will hold a virtual Contributor Summit hackathon on September 11, running 08:30 to 19:30 CEST across an APAC/EMEA morning block and an EMEA/Americas afternoon block.
Buildkite is built differently: refined primitives orchestrated with a control plane that provides control with zero compromise.
OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, Meta, Uber, Shopify, Airbnb, Bazel, Backstage, vLLM and Reddit all standardized CI on Buildkite.
Hosted runners or your own infra; any cloud, any OS, any chip; MCP, models and pipeline triggers for agentic development; your secrets and source code never leaving your hands.
DigitalOcean has added cache-aware routing to its Inference Router, letting the system account for the cost of breaking a warm prompt cache when deciding whether to switch models mid-session. The update pairs with two new controls: an explicit model affinity header that ties requests to a session, and a routing budget parameter that caps how much extra cost a model switch can incur.
AWS Glue 6.0 is now generally available in all AWS regions where Glue operates, with pricing 30% lower than previous versions. The release is built on Apache Spark 4.1, Python 3.13, and Scala 2.13, and includes full support for the Apache Iceberg v3 specification via Iceberg 1.11.0. A new VARIANT data type with shredding support lets teams store and query JSON, logs, and event data without flattening schemas. No API changes are required to use the new version.
Docker has made its Verified Publisher program self-serve, so software vendors can now apply directly through Docker Hub instead of going through a sales team. Approved publishers get a verified badge, prioritized search ranking, and access to analytics that identify which companies are pulling their images. The badge covers all content types on Docker Hub, including MCP servers, models, sandboxes, and agents. Current verified publishers include Google, Microsoft, AWS, Datadog, and Grafana Labs.
A July 23 Azure West US outage lasted about five hours after a networking repair triggered an unexpectedly broad device isolation. Contributing factors included flawed blast radius analysis, inadequate aggregate safety validation, misleading health signals, incomplete event logging, and rollback automation that depended on the disrupted connectivity.
Octopus can orchestrate independently deployable Kubernetes microservices through a parent project using Deploy a Release steps, coordinating sequential or parallel deployments across environments. The approach preserves individual service deployment while enabling teams to promote multiple services together as a single unit with consistent lifecycle management.
