Linear Loops are recurring agent workflows for teams. They now respond to more workplace activity and can edit Linear documents and post updates to Slack. Loops handle the coordination of project plans so information doesn't fall out of sync and handoffs don't get missed. Linear has extended introductory Loops credits through to December 31.
People in the US pay far more for far worse coverage and lower life expectancy. However, the system is functioning exactly as it was designed. The employer-based system started as a way for employers to attract workers after a wage freeze in World War II. It became a system where employers gained significant tax benefits for buying healthcare on behalf of their employees over decades of layered rules. Healthcare is a super-regulated market, and it is intimidating for founders.
Startup fundraising is rewarding elite teams with high valuations, rapid growth, and frequent M&A, but underlying risks are mounting. Common issues include weak gross margins, inflated contracted ARR, customer concentration, expensive compute, thin technical differentiation, and intense competition.

The word "agent" will come up thousands of times at Dreamforce. But what data are those agents running on? Stale records, manually maintained by sales reps.
Meanwhile, 5,000+ startups run on the CRM that updates itself...
Lightfield [5] is an agentic CRM [6] that captures every email, call, and meeting - on its own. Data entry is no longer part of the job description.
Need a pipeline report for your board? Lightfield builds it from real sales conversations, not stale fields.
Need to kickstart outbound? Lightfield builds the list based on your closed-wons, writes the outreach, and asks you to hit "play".
Capital structures now serve as competitive moats, particularly for companies leveraging AI and infrastructure, by transforming financial engineering into a decisive advantage. Startups need strategies to compound capital alongside traction, using each milestone to reduce financial risk and attract diverse funding sources. The most resilient companies use abundant capital to secure more durable sources, ensuring each dollar raised eases future fundraising efforts and propels growth.
Conway's law says that software reflects the communication structures of the organizations that build it. AI is now part of those structures. This means existing workflows need to change, with a focus on outcomes. Human judgment still matters, so alignment therefore involves humans adapting too.
Paul Graham suggests startups should focus on becoming more powerful, not just more profitable. Strategies include owning customer relationships, creating network effects, and transforming into a marketplace or full-stack solution. Helping users make money, being generous, and selling early-stage to fast-deciding customers can also enhance a startup's long-term strength.
LinkedIn ads cost $37.42 per thousand impressions against about $10 on Meta, so the playbook starts with when NOT to run them. They only pay off when deal size is at least $10K and there are at least 10,000 decision-makers to reach, with $3,000 a month as the minimum test budget. Instead of targeting by job title, the author pulls buying signals like job postings and tech-stack changes and uploads them as a custom audience. Switching one account to manual bidding took cost per lead from $287 to $90.
Most product-led growth companies go through the same PLG-to-enterprise growing pains. They may be packaged differently, but they somehow go through the same conversations. This post goes through these challenges to prove how they aren't unique.

Slackforce Surfaces turns Slack conversations into live dashboards, decks, or reports so the team can work from it together. Surfaces stay current and automatically update as they are connected to the source. They can be pinned into a channel so people can filter, comment on, and act on them together. This post presents several use cases for Slackforce Surfaces.
The strongest results come from giving an agent a well-designed workspace with a sandbox, software, business context, and clear operating instructions. The system prompt becomes a map that helps the agent find what it needs without carrying everything in context. Use models for judgment and code for consistency. Agents need to find the right tools, work within clear permissions, and move from analysis to action. This meant proposing campaign changes, routing them through human approval, and verifying that the changes were applied correctly.
Most companies get engineers on stage by training them. PostHog got to more than 100 events a year by not asking. The engineer who built a feature is the one who demos it, the travel budget and brand assets are already provisioned, and nobody needs approval. More than half the company has now demoed somewhere, and about 95% of those events put them face to face with customers. About 20% of engineers opt out of speaking and nothing happens to them.
Bending Spoons bought Miro and Airtable this month, so an engineer who lived through its Evernote takeover wrote up what the six months after a close look like. Evernote was around $100M in ARR when 129 people were laid off in one round. His team went from six developers to one. The subscription price went from $69.99 to $129.99 a year. Bending Spoons later listed at $18.4B. He reads a voluntary severance offer as the new owner announcing its plan for the org.
Miro and Airtable both got cash-flow positive and both sold this month for about 2.5 times revenue. Miro had about $600M in ARR and sold for $1.355B. Airtable had about $480M growing over 20% and sold for $1.285B. Between them, they held about $1.4B in cash, and buyers paid nothing extra for it. Growth rate was the only thing priced. The cash sat there earning the worst multiple on the cap table.

The Salesforce era created CRM. But the companies of the future will not run on a lead database - but a world model of their business.
Lightfield [5] is the CRM engineered for the future [6]. It updates itself from every call, email, meeting, and Slack thread, and connects everything to the people, deals, and accounts they changed.
Lightfield agents find prospects that look like your best customers, and book the meetings. They capture commitments from every conversation, diagnose where your funnel is weak, and learn from your best sellers to codify what works.
SaaS valuations dropped nearly $2 trillion in early 2026 due to fears about AI disrupting business models, but revenue growth quickly rebounded. The Stripe SaaS Index, measuring weekly pay-in volumes of 72,000 non-AI SaaS businesses, showed strong growth post-sell-off, particularly among young companies and in the US market. Healthcare, retail, and professional services sectors outperformed pre-crisis trends, with AI adoption contributing to the resilience, especially among younger firms.
Ramp's August card data covers 70,000 companies, and it is the number your board will compare your AI spend against. More than half of companies pay for at least one AI product, but that share barely grew, up 0.4% on July. At the heaviest spenders, spend per employee fell almost 10% to $7,205, and part of that is price. The average cost of a million tokens has dropped to $0.68 from a March peak of $1.15, so the same usage costs less each month. If you sell AI, customers' bills are shrinking without them buying less.
AI venture markets are pricing early-stage companies as if many could become Anthropic-scale outcomes even as mature software assets sell for modest revenue multiples. That gap is fueling investor anxiety and raising the risk of overpaying for consensus deals.
Startup leaders face volatile emotional swings when teams fall behind critical milestones. Effective leadership requires adapting to the moment: challenge teams during highs, absorb pressure during lows, remove bottlenecks, and choose tools deliberately instead of amplifying stress by default.
Counter-positioning allows startups to challenge incumbents by adopting business models that incumbents can't replicate without harming their own profit structures. Examples include Ramp's focus on saving customer money and Base Power's shift from battery sales to electricity services. This strategy buys startups time to develop lasting moats like Scale Economies and Network Effects.
Exceptional performance often comes from finding the one outcome that matters more than assigned tasks. Teams should distinguish visible activity from decisive results, give proven employees autonomy, and identify which achievement would materially change the company's trajectory.

Data agent ChatGPT work can help people answer questions about themselves by connecting company data, investigating what changed, and building interactive, shareable dashboards. Users can direct and refine analysis within conversations without writing queries or learning a new analytics tool. The data agent connects to approved data sources and uses organizations' business terms, metric inhibitions, custom calculations, and data relationships to interpret the data. The context comes from semantic layers and trusted sources.
OpenAI's Agents API is now in public beta. The API brings the same harness and infrastructure that powers Codex to developers through a simple and flexible API. It allows developers to create useful agents with a powerful harness that manages context, uses tools efficiently, and coordinates subagents. The API provides infrastructure to keep agents running reliably for days, and environments where agents can work with files, run code, and save intermediate results.
Salesforce has introduced a new architecture that gives AI a shared understanding of the customer and the business. The new capabilities give AI the ability to act with trust within an open and composable AI ecosystem. The agent understands what is happening, decides what to do next, takes action across systems, and works alongside people and other agents. It brings together what agents need to understand the business, reason and plan, take action, and operate within enterprise controls.
This developer replaced all of their services with vibe-coded products and saved about $25,000 a month. The setup covers almost everything they need - they would need much more infrastructure before that would be possible. This post covers the basics.
When a partner takes your Series A meeting, the exit they are picturing is now $25 billion, not one. Twenty years ago, 6 public software companies were worth that much and no private ones. Today there are 60 public and 21 private, which is why a $1B outcome no longer moves a big fund. PitchBook counts 63 US companies worth $10B or more, up from 26 in 2021, with 19 new ones in the first half of this year. Rounds of $100M or more took 87.5% of the $412.7B invested in that half. SpaceX paid $60B for Cursor in August.
