APPLE SET TO BECOME WORLD'S TOP PHONE MAKER, OVERTAKING SAMSUNG
The iPhone 17 models have been a hit in both the US and China. Apple has seen double-digit year-over-year sales growth in both markets. The cooling of US-China trade tensions and a depreciating dollar have boosted purchases in emerging markets. The growth will propel Apple past longtime rival Samsung this year.
TETHER STABLECOIN STABILITY RATING REDUCED TO ‘WEAK' AT S&P
Analysts have dropped Tether's USDT stability rating to 'weak' due to a rise in exposure to high-risk assets in USDT's reserves over the past year. The reserve can no longer fully absorb a decline in its value. A drop in Bitcoin's value, combined with a decline in the value of other high-risk assets, could lead to USDT being undercollateralized. The token's other weaknesses include limited transparency on research management, a lack of asset segregation to protect against Tether's insolvency, and limitations on redeeming USDT with Tether directly.
CHINA LAUNCHES AN EMERGENCY LIFEBOAT TO BRING THREE ASTRONAUTS BACK TO EARTH
On November 4, astronauts on the Tiangong space station discovered that one of the two docked ferry ships had a damaged window. The discovery was made during a crew handover, so it left three astronauts on the Tiangong station without a safe return craft. China successfully launched an unpiloted spacecraft late Monday to the space station to provide a lifeboat for the astronauts. The astronauts will return next year, soon after the arrival of their replacements.
A CELL SO MINIMAL THAT IT CHALLENGES DEFINITIONS OF LIFE
Scientists have discovered a single-celled organism with a fantastically small genome. The cell is so stripped of essential functions that it challenges biologists' definitions of life. Its lost genes include those central to cell metabolism - the cell can neither process nutrients nor grow its own. The cell appears to be a parasite entirely dependent on a host or cellular community.

WHY (SENIOR) ENGINEERS STRUGGLE TO BUILD AI AGENTS
Transitioning from deterministic systems to probabilistic agents requires trading certainty for semantic flexibility. People trained on strict interfaces will find this uncomfortable. However, forcing an agent into a deterministic box defeats the purpose of using one. Instead of coding away ambiguity, start engineering systems that are resilient enough to handle it.
MIT STUDY FINDS AI CAN ALREADY REPLACE 11.7% OF US WORKFORCE
MIT has released a study that shows that AI can already replace 11.7% of the US labor market across finance, health care, and professional services. The study used a labor simulation tool called the Iceberg Index to simulate how workers interact across the country and how they are affected by AI and corresponding policy. The index offers a detailed map of where disruption is forming, down to the zip code. It is designed to provide a skills-centered snapshot of what today's AI systems can do to give policymakers a structured way to explore scenarios before they commit real money and legislation.
THE UNTOLD STORY OF CHARLIE MUNGER'S FINAL YEARS
Charlie Munger died two years ago in his longtime home in Los Angeles, close to people he liked and projects he found stimulating. Rather than a quiet life by the sea, Munger spent his final years chasing investments, forging friendships, and facing new challenges. In the year before his death, he made over $50 million on a bet on coal stocks, revved up his real-estate activities, and dealt with health issues. His final years provide a blueprint for investors on how to age with grace, equanimity, and purpose.

EFFECTIVE HARNESSES FOR LONG-RUNNING AGENTS
Developers are increasingly requiring agents to take on complex tasks that require work that spans hours or even days. Getting agents to make consistent progress across multiple context windows remains an open problem. Agents need a way to bridge the gap between coding sessions as context windows are limited, and most complex projects can't be completed within a single window. This article proposes a two-fold solution, with an initializer agent setting up the environment on the first run, and a coding agent tasked with making incremental progress in every session while leaving artifacts for the next session. Code examples are provided.

WHY AI SAFETY WON'T MAKE AMERICA LOSE THE RACE WITH CHINA
The US holds a 10x compute advantage over China. Proposed safety regulations might add 1-2% to training costs through disclosure requirements and capability evaluations, which won't meaningfully erode the lead. What could catastrophically undermine it: chip export lobbying that would collapse the advantage to 2x or application-layer regulations that strangle deployment with compliance burdens.
A MOMENT THAT FUNDAMENTALLY EXTENDS AI'S CAPABILITIES AND RESHAPE THE ENTIRE ECONOMY
If xAI's model can successfully compete in League of Legends, that means that it would be able to read and understand any computer interface without needing a specialized API. The model will also need to be able to reason and produce a robust and complex plan. Such a model would be a game-changer for AI capabilities and the global economy.

BIG BTC HOLDERS ARE SELLING INTO THE DIP
Over 9,000 BTC flowed into exchanges on November 21. 45% came from large 100+ BTC deposits, pushing the average deposit size to 1.23 BTC, the highest in a year. Big holders appear to be reducing exposure and adding sell pressure. ETH and altcoins are also seeing elevated exchange deposits. Spot data shows sellers have dominated since early October, with only the last couple of days looking more balanced between buyers and sellers.
WORLD LIBERTY-LINKED DAT ALT5 SIGMA IS IMPLODING
ALT5 Sigma, a Nasdaq-listed firm that pivoted into a “digital asset treasury” to accumulate World Liberty Financial (WLFI) tokens, has seen its stock crash ~80% since August and is now experiencing internal issues. The company warned staff it expects litigation and possible regulatory probes, suspended its CEO, and was found guilty of money laundering in Rwanda. Shareholders say they feel “betrayed” as the broader DAT boom starts to look like an off-ramp for big token holders.
SUPERVAULTS V2: POWERING THE NEOBANK
Superform will launch SuperVaults v2 on December 3 with SuperWBTC, SuperWETH, and SuperUSDC on Ethereum, introducing validator-secured ERC-7540 vaults with double-Merkle hook allowlisting, 7-day timelocks, and validator-signed price-per-share backed by economic slashing to replace centralized "vaults" operating offchain without verifiability. The infrastructure splits roles across Managers under timelock who can only execute pre-approved hooks, Validators attesting PPS with bonded accountability, and Guardians with veto and pause authority, while the SuperBundler enables single-signature cross-chain deposits across 8+ networks. The flagship strategies combine variable-rate lending on Morpho, Euler, and Aave with fixed-rate Pendle Principal Token exposure dynamically allocated based on redemption activity and term-market dislocations.

NARRATIVE > REVENUE
Despite profitable companies like Pumpfun reaching $100 million revenue in six months and Hyperliquid generating $875 million with 11 employees, revenue shows weak correlation with token prices. Hyperliquid's $3 million daily buybacks correlate 0.7 with HYPE price, but PUMP's $460 million projected annual buybacks correlate only 0.38 with price at a 3.7x revenue multiple, while Uniswap's fees show -0.14 correlation with UNI despite the fee switch proposal spiking price 43% to $10 before settling at a 35x revenue multiple. The revenue meta disconnect mirrors traditional markets where TSLA trades at 260x P/E and PLTR at 350x P/E as the average S&P 500 P/E ratio doubled from 13 in 2011 to 30 today, with revenue mattering less in bubbles and more in bear markets as 2025 marks crypto's first year with multiple projects delivering hundreds of millions to token holders.
CRYPTO IS PRICED FOR NETWORK EFFECTS IT DOESN'T HAVE
Crypto is valued at $2,500-$23,000 per user versus Meta's $400-$500 per user, despite lacking comparable retention, monetization, or network effects, with most crypto "network effects" being negative congestion effects where more users increase fees and slow transactions. L1s capture 90% of total market cap but only 12% of fees, down from 60%, while DeFi generates 73% of fees but represents under 10% of valuation, contradicting the fat protocol thesis as value migrates to app and user aggregation layers. Metcalfe's Law analysis reveals crypto's k coefficient is 10-1,000x higher than Facebook's, meaning each user is priced vastly more valuable despite lower stickiness as liquidity remains mercenary, developers churn through forkable codebases, and retention fails to compound across cycles. Crypto might grow into powerful network effects if it becomes an internet settlement fabric, but it is currently far overvalued.
WHY CAPITAL IS LEAVING BITCOIN
Bitcoin functioned as a regulatory battering ram that survived where E-gold failed by removing centralized attack vectors, but its three trillion dollar valuation collapses now that tokenized US stocks, gold, and stablecoins are legal with several hundred billion in market cap. The monopoly dissolved as stablecoins migrated from Bitcoin to Ethereum to Tron treating blockchains as disposable plumbing, while Nasdaq outperformed Bitcoin over four-year cycles as risk premium vanished and developer commits plunged to 2017 levels. People prefer Tether's ability to freeze stolen funds and recover misplaced tokens over Bitcoin's permanent irreversibility, revealing the market wants powerful rails with error correction rather than pure code-is-law decentralization.
MAPPING THE FIRST WAVE OF AGENT PAYMENTS
x402 payment infrastructure analysis shows USDC accounts for 99% of volume, with Base handling 89% of transactions, while agent-like wallets generate 90% of transaction count. Coinbase leads facilitator transaction volume, but Questflow routes to the widest recipient set, positioning itself as the long-tail marketplace aggregator versus vertical SaaS-style competitors. USDC's ERC-3009/transferWithAuthorization standard enables the authorization-then-settle flow optimized for Coinbase and Base infrastructure, though this concentration creates platform risk as agents dominate micro-payment volumes while humans execute fewer, larger-ticket transactions.

OpenAI has unified ChatGPT's voice and text modes into a single interface, eliminating the need to switch between modes and stare at an animated blue circle. Users can now talk to ChatGPT while simultaneously seeing real-time text responses, images, maps, and chat history on the same screen. The update rolls out as the default experience across web and mobile platforms. Users can revert to the separate voice mode in settings.
JUDGE WANTS TO FIX GOOGLE'S AD TECH MONOPOLY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE
Google and the Justice Department presented final arguments to Judge Leonie Brinkema on remedies for Google's ad tech monopoly. The DOJ is seeking forced sales while Google is advocating for only behavioral changes. Brinkema expressed concern that structural remedies might be difficult to enforce during Google's likely appeal, suggesting behavioral changes could be implemented more quickly. The judge emphasized the urgency of issuing her 2026 ruling, aware that delays could make remedies less effective, as demonstrated in Meta's recent antitrust case, where market conditions shifted significantly during litigation.

WHY CREATIVE WORK NEEDS STRUCTURE TO THRIVE
Creative work thrives when supported by intentional structure rather than chaos, as the right systems protect focus time and clarify processes without stifling originality. Strong creative teams use practical frameworks such as protected deep work blocks, clear project briefs, and regular check-ins to reduce confusion and free up mental energy for actual innovation. The key is building flexible structures that evolve with team needs, treating processes as supportive scaffolding rather than restrictive rules.
