He claims that the project isn't being beaten by competition but that it was in a state of self-inflicted decline. Some contributors believe that the project's slowdown was due to Mullenweg's public dispute with WP Engine in September 2024, but Mullenweg rejected the notion.

OPENAI TOUTS AMAZON ALLIANCE IN MEMO, SAYS MICROSOFT HAS ‘LIMITED OUR ABILITY' TO REACH CLIENTS

OpenAI's revenue chief, Denise Dresser, recently sent a memo to staff saying that the company's alliance with Amazon was a key growth driver for its enterprise business. The memo said that OpenAI's partnership with Microsoft was foundational to its success, but it limited the startup's ability to meet enterprises' needs. OpenAI's enterprise business makes up 40% of its revenue and is expected to meet parity with its consumer business by the end of the year. The company has been trying to convince investors of its strengthening position as it is gearing up for an initial public offering as soon as this year.

The opportunity in consumer AI is pretty substantial, as long as you have the user base and attention - which Meta does.

AGENTIC ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (AEO)

Agents consume documentation fundamentally differently from humans. If a site is too token-heavy, poorly structured, or has a misconfigured robots.txt, it could cause AI agents to hallucinate solutions or fail at tasks. Agentic Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring, formatting, and serving technical content so that AI coding agents can actually use it. It focuses on discoverability, parsability, token efficiency, capability signaling, and access control to aid agents in navigating documentation.
