ANTHROPIC 'SNEAKPEEK' FLAW IS A SILENT ZERO-CLICK THREAT

A flaw in Claude Code Desktop's preview pane let malicious HTML in a public repository run automatically when a developer asked Claude to review or edit it. Chained weaknesses bypassed sandbox protections and stole AWS, GitHub, API, SSH, and Claude OAuth credentials. Anthropic patched the issue after Noma found a bypass of the first fix. Developers should update and remove long-lived credentials from workstations.

A UAF TURNED RCE

curl 8.23.0 patched CVE-2026-92392, a HIGH-severity HTTP/2 upload use-after-free that allowed a malicious server to achieve remote code execution when a reset on a paused stream left libcurl holding a dangling pointer to a freed easy handle. During multi-handle cleanup, server data overwrote that freed memory, including a function pointer, while a leaked request exposed local addresses to defeat ASLR. Anthropic's OSS Scanner found the bug, which maintainers rated below CRITICAL because exploitation requires a ~135KB upload and depends on allocation patterns that vary across distros and libc versions.

CITIZENLAB DETAILS NEW SPYWARE TRIGGERED BY ONLINE ADVERTISING

Discover-Tech, an Israeli firm presenting itself as an ad vendor, displayed 442 million ads on more than 120,000 websites and apps, including the BBC, The New York Times, and Duolingo. Some of those ads carried zero-click spyware that infected phones and computers simply by appearing on screen, with targets ranging from Al Jazeera journalists to NATO and NVIDIA staff. It is the first confirmed case of government-backed zero-click spyware delivered through online ads. Google has since blocked Discover-Tech from its ad platforms.

HOW TO PITCH LOCAL NEWSROOMS IN THE US

Local news pitches are more effective when they target the right journalist, demonstrate a clear community impact, and provide everything needed to produce the story. Local newsrooms have declined by 81% since 2002, making relevant, ready-to-use pitches especially important. Start by reviewing journalists' recent coverage, then contact assignment editors at TV stations or editors at print and digital outlets when appropriate. Tailor pitches to the format: print needs a clear story and supporting data, TV needs visuals and local people to interview, and radio needs an available guest who can speak. Include a timely local angle, relevant data, quotes, visuals, and event details, and send the pitch before the newsroom's morning planning meeting.

THE ART OF BRAND MERCH

People wear merch to say something about themselves, not to promote a company. A logo on a T-shirt or water bottle asks customers to carry a message without giving them a reason, and only works when the logo already means something. Strong merch does one of three jobs. It signals belonging through a recognizable color or shape, sells more product by being designed around how that product gets used, or lets in people who can't yet afford the core product.
