Bancor's Bprotocol Foundation and LocalCoin Ltd. have filed a lawsuit against Uniswap Labs and the Uniswap Foundation, alleging unauthorized use of Bancor's patented constant product AMM (CPAMM) technology first introduced in 2016. The suit claims Uniswap's original 2018 protocol infringes on Bancor's 2017 patents covering the automated, permissionless onchain swap mechanism foundational to DEXs.
Squads has launched Grid, a suite of developer-friendly APIs designed to replace legacy banking middleware with stablecoin-native infrastructure on Solana. Grid enables fintech teams to spin up global USD accounts, send cross-border payments, integrate yield, trade tokenized assets, and issue virtual cards, all without touching complex blockchain tooling or sponsor banks.
Solana's Alpenglow consensus mechanism replaces TowerBFT and Proof-of-History with Votor for concurrent one- and two-round voting finality and Rotor for erasure-coded, single-hop data dissemination, foregoing gossip. Simulations based on current stake distribution show median finality latency of ~150 ms (as fast as 100 ms), down from ~12.8 s under the legacy protocol. Alpenglow's “20+20” resilience tolerates 20% adversarial and 20% non-responsive stake, while Rotor maximally leverages network bandwidth to minimize leader bottlenecks.
Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) is the profit block producers and searchers capture by strategically ordering, including, or excluding transactions beyond standard rewards, arising from information asymmetries in public mempools. Common forms include frontrunning lottery claims, backrunning AMM arbitrage, sandwich attacks on trades, and speculative transaction retries at low fees. Unchecked MEV can drive up gas costs through spam, incentivize consensus-layer forks, and centralize power among proficient extractors. Mitigation approaches range from offchain and order-flow auctions and single-slot finality to application-specific designs, fair-ordering protocols, and encrypted mempools, helping align incentives and reduce harmful externalities.
Stablecoins employ diverse collateral and algorithmic mechanisms, creating distinct risk profiles that frameworks like Bluechip's SMIDGE, which assesses stability, management, implementation, decentralization, governance, and externals, help illuminate. Traditional agencies such as S&P and Moody's are now applying securities-style analyses, reflecting growing institutional scrutiny of stablecoin infrastructure. Tether's low rating for transparency yet dominant liquidity and PYUSD's strong reserve backing offset by high centralization exemplify these trade-offs. Users must therefore align stablecoin choices and ratings with their own priorities, understanding that no single rating captures every dimension of risk.
ERC-7946 proposes a new model where dApps suggest transactions via QR code or NFC without accessing the user's wallet address, significantly improving privacy. Instead of connecting wallets directly (an increasingly risky and exclusionary practice), this standard treats dApps as composable interfaces for crafting transactions, not identity checkpoints. If adopted, it would prevent dApps from blocking users based on wallet history (e.g. Tornado Cash usage) and reduce third-party data leaks, enabling a new class of privacy-first, even offline, Ethereum applications.
Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service will power Webull Pay's crypto services – trading, custody, staking, and USDC – starting June. This partnership ensures deep liquidity, institutional-grade security, and compliance. Webull Pay customers will access Coinbase's advanced infrastructure and income-earning crypto features, positioning the platform for scalable growth. Webull Pay is also exploring global expansion to offer branded crypto experiences across markets.
Robinhood submitted a 42-page proposal to the SEC advocating for a federal framework that legally equates RWA tokens to their underlying assets and enables off-chain matching with on-chain settlement.
Ethereum's exchange supply has fallen below 4.9% of total supply for the first time ever, while Bitcoin's sits at 7.1%, its lowest level since November 2018.
Bybit has become the first major crypto exchange to enable direct global stock trading with USDT, offering access to 78 top equities, including Apple, Tesla, and Amazon.
Google has launched an experimental AI tool called Stitch, which uses Gemini 2.5 Pro to convert text prompts and reference images into functional UI designs and front-end code. Available through Google Labs, Stitch enables developers to quickly generate multiple interface variants and export them directly to apps or design platforms like Figma. This move positions Stitch as a direct competitor to Figma's recently announced Make UI tool, signaling Google's intent to retain users within its own AI ecosystem.
Adobe is renaming its Creative Cloud All Apps to Creative Cloud Pro in North America and raising prices by $10 monthly starting June 17. The new plan adds unlimited AI image credits and 4,000 video and audio AI credits. Annual pricing jumps from $659.88 to $779.99. A cheaper Standard plan with limited AI will remain for current users. Existing subscribers will auto-switch to Pro on renewal.
Microsoft's NLWeb is an open project that turns websites into conversational interfaces using natural language. Early adopters include Shopify, TripAdvisor, and Eventbrite. Created by R.V. Guha, it lets sites act as MCP servers for intelligent agents, enabling features like personalized help and smart searches. Part of Microsoft's vision shared at this year's Build conference, NLWeb aims to boost agent accessibility without apps.
By 2035, AI trained on massive usability data could revolutionize interface design, making predictive usability more effective than traditional user testing for common cases. Today's usability insights are scattered, but if unified and used to train AI, they could scale like other AI systems. Though it may take 100,000 hours of annotated research and cost hundreds of millions, the boost in UX productivity could save billions each year.

The AI button, often shown with vague icons like a magic wand, adds confusion and disrupts workflows by separating AI from regular tasks. As users grow more familiar with AI, this design will become outdated and fragment work. A better solution is contextual integration—like embedded AI teammates—that fit smoothly into workflows and allow natural, real-time interaction without switching modes.
Designer lethargy is rising as nonstop shifts in tools and trends leave little time for rest or deep creativity. The fast pace, driven by AI and social media, turns creativity into performance, where staying visible feels essential. This pressure fuels burnout and grief, disconnecting many from the joy of creating and challenging their sense of identity and financial stability.
150+ free and open-source animated components and effects built with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Motion. It's the perfect companion for shadcn/ui.
Designers should rethink what “greatest work” means, as true impact often lies beyond flashy projects. Most people need designs that are affordable, convenient, and reliable—more than just beautiful. Great design grows in cultures with shared values and long-term commitment, which are rare. Real greatness is about using your skills to tackle meaningful problems.

Duolingo replaced its punitive hearts with an energy system, using 25 units per lesson and rewarding bonus energy for correct answers. This change reframes mistakes as investment, adds variable rewards, keeps scarcity for monetization, and encourages more mistakes, which is key for better language learning.
UX research is facing strain, not from collapse, but from weak, borrowed methods that lack depth as AI demands more predictive, scalable insights. Adopting tools like simulation modeling from social sciences can help researchers study complex behavior and guide decisions when traditional access to users is limited.
Everyone's talking about reshoring manufacturing, but most don't grasp what it really means. China produces 44.7 million tons of aluminum while the US makes just 1.3 million - what will we build robot frames with? China controls 90% of the rare earth metals needed for electric motors. Even defense companies can't build without Chinese components. The real opportunity isn't making socks here, but investing in the "primes" - vertical integrators in robotics, energy, defense, and computing who can disrupt incumbents.
Finance teams used to face a brutal choice: all-in-one suites with four mediocre features or cobbled-together niche tools. Now, best-of-breed partnerships are creating a "choose your own adventure" landscape. Brex cards show up in Zip's procurement flow. Navan handles travel for Brex customers. Finance software makers who focus on doing one thing exceptionally well and then partner with others are winning the enterprise market over bloated all-in-one platforms.
Recent tech acquisitions, particularly in AI, indicate a possible end to the M&A slump. OpenAI is actively pursuing deals, notably a rumored $3 billion acquisition of coding app Windsurf. Databricks has continued its aggressive acquisition strategy, highlighted by its recent $1 billion purchase of Neon.
AI agents are killing product-led growth by changing how users interact with software. Instead of clicking around interfaces and discovering features, users now delegate tasks to AI agents. This breaks classic PLG tactics: onboarding flows become irrelevant, UI optimization loses impact, and "aha moments" disappear when users aren't directly using the product. Companies must rebuild their growth strategies around capturing user intent, measuring outcomes, and building trust in delegation.
While AI snippets and agents reshape search, one SEO principle remains crucial: topical authority. Google still rewards sites that comprehensively cover related subtopics - leaked documents confirm it. The best way to measure it is to calculate your "Topic Share" - the percentage of traffic you capture from all keywords in a topic compared to competitors.
Adding more features won't fix underlying product issues like slow growth or low engagement. Instead, tech teams should focus on understanding customer needs, validating the problem, and ensuring their solution is the best option. Resist the urge to build without first addressing core issues and assumptions.
Don't just sprint from round to round - map out your first 40 months of fundraising. Today's funding climate is very unpredictable, with many investors chasing momentum over milestones. What's hot changes constantly (neurotech: dead in 2022, hot in 2025). The best founders understand this and build longer roadmaps that account for future financing markets, not just immediate goals.
When you play it safe and order the same dinner every time - even when exotic options sound better - that's the Ambiguity Effect at work. We avoid choices with unknown odds, sometimes paying to dodge uncertainty. In one study, people gave up 72% of potential payout just to avoid ambiguity.
Databricks' acquisition of Neon revealed that 80% of new databases on Neon were created by AI agents, not people. AI app builders default to certain tools, such as Neon for databases and Stripe for payments, establishing these as industry standards. Dev-tool companies must optimize for AI agent visibility and offer seamless, zero-click integrations to become the default choice in AI-driven environments.
Infosec and IT professionals experience the same concerns, but often hold them in silos. PDQ set out to break down the barriers and share insights amongst aligned allies.
After receiving a new direct-to-film printer from China-based Procolored, YouTuber Cameron Coward engaged with cybersecurity researcher Kirsten Hahn after his computer was infected by malware. Hahn discovered that 39 files for products on Procolored's Mega.nz account triggered malware detections for a cryptocurrency wallet stealer and an XRed backdoor for Windows PCs. Hahn suggested that the company may not have intentionally introduced the malicious files, as the C2 server for XRed backdoor is offline.
A threat actor tracked as Hazy Hawk is hijacking abandoned DNS CNAME records pointing to abandoned cloud services to distribute scams, fake apps, and malicious apps. Hazy Hawk scans for domains with dangling CNAME records, then registers a new cloud resource with the same name as the abandoned CNAME, and finally creates hundreds of malicious URLS under it that redirect users to scam sites. It has hijacked subdomains from cdc[.]gov, ted[.]com, nyu[.]edu, and unicef[.]org among others.
UK telecom Virgin Media O2 fixed a security flaw in its 4G calling that revealed users' location data to callers. Researcher Daniel Williams discovered that call signaling messages contained IMSI, IMEI, and cell ID data that could pinpoint recipients' locations within 100 square meters in urban areas.
Artist Antoine Schmitt describes a phishing attack that he was a victim of which led to installing the AMOS infostealer. Schmitt was contacted by a threat actor masquerading as a very professional journalist for a magazine called Artscope Magazine. The journalist had Schmitt download and install a trojanized video app that executed an AppleScript payload to download and run the infostealer.
While SCCM gets security attention, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) often exposes similar vulnerabilities. Misconfigured MDT deployment shares frequently allow unauthorized access to credentials stored in configuration files, task sequences, and scripts. These credentials can potentially grant domain admin access or control over deployed systems.
