Cloudflare Durable Objects are a primitive that combines a serverless V8 isolate for running code, a paired SQLite instance, and request routing to a particular isolate. They allow developers to start thinking about their service as a set of many event-driven objects rather than as a bunch of services talking to a database. Durable Objects run explicitly in a single-threaded manner and come with native support for WebSockets. They are cheap and extremely token-efficient.
Technology should enable rather than subjugate. Gaining more information and speed through our tools doesn't usually result in us being able to relax more - it usually just means our deadlines get shorter. The desire for calmer compute has grown past the stage of indie projects and tiny scales. This post looks at several projects that help us rest and create a space where our thoughts can be mulled over without being bombarded with information.
Startups that have had explosive AI-driven revenue growth may be in trouble. Most of these companies are scaling revenue by reselling inference at very low (and sometimes negative) margins. The value of the products or services they're providing isn't adding anything on top of the intelligence they are reselling. While VCs seem excited about this growth, the business model is unsustainable.
Anthropic will purchase up to 2 gigawatts of AMD's Instinct MI450 chips starting in the first half of 2027, and AMD will invest up to $5 billion into Anthropic as certain deployment milestones are met.
Vera is the first server CPU that Nvidia has designed from the core. It was specifically designed to address bottlenecks in AI agents. Nvidia claims the chip has 50% better performance for AI agents than x86 chips. Vera chips were delivered to clients, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX, for evaluation in June.
Buzz is a group chat platform for the workplace that puts humans and AI agents in the same conversations. It is model-agnostic, decentralized, self-sovereign, and open source. The app looks a lot like Slack, but with native AI agents and the ability to manage GitHub projects from one interface. Developers can customize Buzz instances to the needs and workflows of their teams. The app is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, and the code for the app has been uploaded to GitHub.
OpenAI claims that two AI systems that it was testing broke out of their test environment and hacked into Hugging Face. Hugging Face discovered the breach early last week, saying there had been unauthorized access to internal data sets and company credentials. Its employees suspected that the attack was carried out by a top-of-the-line frontier AI model due to the sophistication of the attack. OpenAI's AI apparently targeted Hugging Face as it was the quickest route to answering a benchmarking question.
Roblox is exploring the use of video models to create photorealistic experiences without compromising scale or multiplayer performance. An early version of Roblox Reality is expected later this year or early next. This post looks at how the company is bringing this vision to life. Roblox's approach doesn't require a video model to solve everything on its own. It gives the model an engine that remembers the world, enforces its rules, and keeps it true for everyone playing.
Deploy an emotionally intelligent, human-like video agent that sees, hears, and understands, all in 60 seconds. No code involved. Just describe what you want in a sentence and deploy it to your site, app, or meeting in a few clicks. 40+ languages, built-in memory, a new kind of application. Get 50% off builder and above: only for TLDR
A software factory is harnessed loops at scale. Running the loop with humans (light factory) increases judgment and concentration while lowering speed and breakage. Using only AI agents (dark factory) allows agents to handle the whole process, but risks a lack of understanding of the produced software. The hardest job now is knowing which checks to build and how much autonomy to delegate.
Claude Code and Codex are both better at finding bugs in each other's code than their own. Models produce the same types of bugs that they are most likely to miss in review. Developers can take advantage of this finding by routing reviews to different models.
OpenAI now has 10 million people using Codex and ChatGPT Work. The company has seen a sharp uptick in demand for its AI agents since the release of ChatGPT Work. It has nearly doubled agent usage from earlier this month. OpenAI is pushing to develop advanced AI agents that can streamline more complex tasks.
Google has released Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, Gemini 3.6 Flash, and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite. Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber is designed to detect and patch software vulnerabilities and will initially be available only to governments and trusted partners through a limited-access pilot. Gemini 3.6 Flash has improved coding, multimodal, and knowledge-work performance while using up to 17% fewer tokens and costing less per token than the previous model. Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite is built for high-volume workloads and smaller tasks within larger AI-agent systems.
Most AI tools stop at a working demo. Pave goes further, real data, permissions, and hosting built in from day one, so your app is ready for actual work, not just a screenshot.
Cat Wu and Thariq Shihipar from Anthropic's Claude Code team talk about Claude Code, Claude Tag, Fable, coding agent security, evals, tool design, and how Anthropic uses these tools.
Wispr Flow [5] is 4x faster than your keyboard, and 89% of messages go out with zero edits. Speak naturally in any app and Flow delivers clean, formatted text where your cursor lives.
Google is reportedly working on a project that would bake Gemini's neural-network architecture right into the circuitry of a chip. This would lock the model into the chip, increasing efficiency and decreasing overhead. The model can still be refreshed by loading new weights, but the underlying structure will stay fixed. While the project may not end up as a finished product, it shows how the custom AI silicon industry may be moving away from running any model to fusing one model with the metal.
Helios is a rack-scale system that combines AMD's GPUs, CPUs, networking, and software to power frontier model inference. It will start shipping to customers later this year. AMD hasn't released any details about cost, but it is estimated that Helios will cost between $5 million and $5.5 million. AMD only holds around 4.5% of the data center GPU market, but Helios could change that.
This post looks at what's going on in the world of formalization, AI tools, and counterexamples. AI tools are now starting to solve theorems. They can even write proofs in Lean to dispel any doubts about their validity. This is speeding up the research process for mathematicians.
BrainCo showcased a platform that allows users to direct robots through neural signals at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference this week. The technology uses an EEG headset to pick up the wearer's brain signals. AI algorithms are used to decode the signals into intent, which then gets converted into commands for the robot. The demonstration showed a mind-controlled robotic arm completing tasks that require precision, such as grasping a cup and picking up an apple.
AI is in your development workflow. While the token spend shows it, the throughput doesn't. The human is very much still in the loop, and that's a context problem. Join live (FREE) on Jul 23 [12] to see why teams get stuck and how leading teams use a context engine to fix it.
Every jump in AI capability raises the level of abstraction at which an engineer can work. With agent swarms, the unit of work becomes the spec. For this to work, the swarm has to actually follow the spec. This post discusses how to do that.
AI is brilliant for external goods - money, status, and output - and potentially corrosive for internal ones - the skill, the mastery, and the satisfaction you can only get by doing the thing itself. People after external goods see AI as close to a superpower, as it makes people more productive and produces more output. However, for those interested in the internal goods, AI can feel like a loss, as it takes the parts they loved and hands it to a machine, leaving only supervision and accountability. While the output still arrives, the pride and satisfaction of owning the work is gone.
The industry is overreacting to Kimi K3 and Chinese open-weight models. However, there is reason to be concerned about cybersecurity risks. Models capable of mounting cybersecurity attacks on existing infrastructure are already widely available. The only viable defense is to make sure defenders have access to the best models as well.
Google revamped its search with AI last year. Its AI mode replaces search results with conversational responses. People are spending more time with Google than ever, but the company is sending less and less traffic to sites through search results. The changes threaten the open web and show how rapidly AI has upended the technology landscape.
