HARNESSING LLMS FOR AUTOMATING BOLA DETECTIONS

Broken Object Level Authorization (BOLA) vulnerabilities are notoriously difficult to automatically detect as they do not follow set patterns and often require an understanding of the application logic and interdependencies. To address this problem, Unit 42 developed BOLABuster, which leverages LLMs for detecting BOLAs. BOLABuster takes an OpenAPI specification and then identifies all potentially vulnerable endpoints. It then establishes which endpoints are producers and which are consumers to map dependencies. The LLM determines the execution path to the potential BOLA and generates a test script. Unit 42 was able to find new vulnerabilities in Grafana, Harbor, and Easy!Appointments using BOLABuster.

CONTENT MARKETING NEEDS TO EVOLVE BEYOND SEO

Relying solely on Google is risky, as search rankings can fluctuate, and traffic is increasingly concentrated among a few dominant brands. High search rankings don't necessarily lead to conversions. Users often find brands through other channels and then use Google to locate them, giving a misleading impression of SEO's effectiveness. Focusing on SEO limits creativity, preventing content from reaching its full potential.

THE BALKANIZED INTERNET: THE ROLE OF LARGE CLOUD PROVIDERS

The "balkanized internet" is caused by the dominance of large cloud providers. This trend contrasts with the internet's early days, when public access was strictly non-commercial and operated on a shared infrastructure. Today, cloud providers control significant portions of internet infrastructure, leading to a situation where users are increasingly confined within their respective cloud environments.
