New Jersey's Attorney General filed a 332-page petition asking the Supreme Court to review a Third Circuit ruling that favored Kalshi in the state's cease-and-desist dispute over sports event contracts. New Jersey argues states retain authority over gambling law, and Kalshi says it can't be regulated by "50 different regulators." This comes amid a broader nationwide fight between states and the CFTC, which claims exclusive jurisdiction. Kalshi recently lost a related case in Nevada at the Ninth Circuit.
Bitcoin's 90-day correlation with gold hit its highest level since 2020 during the latest Treasury bond selloff, with bitcoin gaining 22.4% in a week, as yields rose and the dollar weakened. Bitwise frames this as bitcoin trading like "amplified gold" amid currency-debasement fears. Bitcoin's correlation to the S&P 500 fell toward zero over the same period, but similar equity decouplings during bond selloffs have historically been short-lived rather than structural. Bitcoin has since pulled back from an $80K+ peak to around $77,600, with long-term holder supply clustered between $83K-$86K and an accumulation floor around $62K-$65K.
Archer Exchange is an orderbook spot market that gives market makers direct access to order flow from top Solana apps and aggregators, paired with dedicated quoting infrastructure. The venue targets professional liquidity providers seeking tighter app-layer integration on Solana.
Hey Anon released Build 3.0, a ground-up rebuild of its DeFAI app centered on a modular protocol-selection layer that scopes AI agent access by user role: yield farmers can enable Aave, Yearn, Beefy, and Pendle; perps traders can select Hyperliquid, Jupiter, or Aster; and token deployers get Pumpfun and Raydium. The update overhauled the dashboard with editable widgets, added agentic wallet creation at sign-in, and split the research AI (Gemma) into a separate chat interface distinct from the main Anon agent. Background task execution was removed in favor of in-conversation processing, reducing agent operational footprint, while coverage spans TON, Solana, and 18 EVM networks. A mobile app is pending Apple review, and a browser extension and AI trading terminal are on the near-term roadmap.
Wintermute categorizes RWAs as crypto's next structural liquidity channel, following VC/ICO, stablecoins ($120B net issuance in a single year), and ETFs/DATs ($63B net flows plus $115B treasury accumulation), noting that onchain tokenized value has tripled to ~$30B even as the stablecoin base contracted. At 18 months of age, the RWA channel shows trailing-12-month inflows of 0.9% of market cap, tracking ahead of DATs and just behind ETFs at the same stage. Prior channels delivered asset-specific buyers, while tokenization places capital inside the system, where purchases of tokenized Treasuries or equities can rotate into BTC or alts with reduced friction, aided by tokenized assets now being accepted as collateral across major venues and DeFi protocols. If historical timing holds, peak RWA inflows are still 2 to 3 years out, and balance-sheet holders as the dominant cohort suggest the resulting cycle runs longer and with less volatility than prior ones.
Global remittance fees average 6.36% against a 3% UN 2030 target, and stablecoins address only the cheapest of three pipeline segments: a Dubai-to-Manila transfer uses a blockchain in 1 of 6 steps, with the remaining steps requiring FX working capital, compliance, local licenses, and payout rail access. Tokenized liquidity does reduce one structural friction: correspondent banking locks capital per country, while on-chain pools can rebalance across 50 markets in minutes rather than days. Félix Pago's $200M raise for US-to-Latin America USDC transfers via WhatsApp demonstrates that even free-distribution consumer apps still require a balance sheet to operate. Stablecoin fragmentation introduces a new correspondent layer, as Circle, Tether, Stripe Bridge, Sony, Klarna, Cloudflare, and Fiserv stablecoins don't interoperate cleanly, prompting a16z Crypto to lead a $10M round into Better Money for cross-stablecoin conversion, replicating on-chain the same intermediary function blockchains were meant to remove.
Wirex is migrating cardholders to a new direct issuer (Wirex Limited) by September 30, launching partial on-chain loan repayments for Wirex One, and powering Send's new USDC-funded Visa card. Separately, COCA overhauled its cashback structure, replacing simple caps with a "Monthly Claim Capacity" tied to staked $COCA tokens, cutting the Elite tier's effective max from $800/month to $350/month, while offering a 30% discount on tier staking costs through September.
Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks on Base for eligible non-US users, creating a composable equity primitive within the EVM stack for the developer ecosystem. Base is soliciting builders across consumer-facing verticals: emerging-market neobrokerages combining local stablecoins with US equity access, AI-driven personalized index creation, and corporate loyalty programs distributing fractional share ownership in place of points or cash rewards. On the DeFi and crypto-native side, target applications include yield-principal stripping that enables self-repaying loan structures and derivative overlays, alongside memestock tokens linked to underlying equities, AI agent-managed equity allocations, and futarchy-style decision markets tied to public corporations. Base Batches 004 is now open for applications targeting these verticals.
An Ingham County court issued a preliminary injunction requiring Kalshi to keep blocking Michigan residents from sports-related event contracts.

Adobe for Slack brings image, video, and PDF creation into Slack, letting Slackbot turn conversations and files into polished content without leaving the workspace. Slackbot reads context from conversations, Canvases, and shared files, then routes requests to more than 70 connected Adobe tools. It requires a qualifying Slack plan, Business+ or Enterprise+, plus a separate Adobe subscription.
Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone—widely expected to be called the iPhone Ultra—will likely support MagSafe despite its extremely thin design. If true, it would give Apple an advantage over Samsung's foldables, which require cases for magnetic charging. Other rumored features include a titanium body, an advanced crease-reducing hinge, split-screen multitasking, and a price above $2,000.
While the foldable iPhone Ultra is expected to dominate headlines, the iPhone 18 Pro may be the more significant upgrade for photographers thanks to a rumored variable-aperture camera lens that could offer greater control over depth of field and image quality. Combined with reports of a larger battery—up to 5,500 mAh on the Pro Max—the device could become Apple's most capable photography-focused iPhone yet, despite an otherwise familiar design.
Designers are now expected to be technically fluent in AI tooling and world-class in craft at once, two full-time jobs whose bars are rising together. The exhaustion has two sources: mistaking engineering velocity for the right ruler, and a feed running on a constant drip of weekend prototypes. Judgment is becoming the scarce resource, and the designers who come out strongest will be rested enough to do it.
Being ignored is one of the hardest situations designers face, but rejection is rarely a dead end for the idea itself. Curiosity beats the ego trap: ask whether others were rejected too, whether the timing was right, and which tradeoffs the decision-maker had to balance. People agree to ideas based on trust more than merit, so asking for feedback beats cataloging a coworker's limitations.
A design engineer's real role isn't simply being a designer who codes or a developer with design skills—it's owning product coherence across the gap between design and development. As AI makes creating interfaces faster, the biggest challenge becomes maintaining consistency, handling edge cases, refining interactions, and making the countless judgment calls that determine whether a product feels polished and intentional rather than fragmented. Ultimately, design engineers act as translators, custodians of quality, and curators of taste, ensuring the shipped product remains cohesive even as teams, tools, and codebases evolve.
Fotor is a robust photo editor like Photoshop online but with fewer learning curves, covering everything from basic adjustments like brightness and contrast to advanced features like retouching portraits.
Curlwind allows you to generate Tailwind stylesheets on demand to get only the CSS utilities you need.
A curated collection of logos to help designers browse and find their next idea.
Everyone plans for the difficulty of building a design system that scales, and almost nobody plans for how hard it is to get people to use one. Adoption comes down to three fits every time: the organization, the products the system has to serve, and a team equipped to sustain it. A technically excellent system misaligned with those three sits unused, and the mistake costs twice: once to build it and once to replace it.
In the later stages of Spec-Driven Design, designers first define a visual direction through moodboards and written style guides, then use AI agents to apply those styles to working prototypes, and finally refine the results until they match the original vision. The process emphasizes maintaining designer control: AI accelerates implementation, but human judgment remains responsible for selecting references, defining aesthetics, and ensuring quality. Refinement can happen through prompting AI, editing designs in Figma with code-linked workflows, or directly modifying code, with the goal of achieving a polished, pixel-perfect product rather than accepting AI-generated approximations.
The University of East Anglia has unveiled a new brand identity built around the idea “Original by Nature,” aiming to reconnect the institution with its history of independent thinking, creative innovation, and environmental leadership. Developed after extensive consultation with students, staff, and stakeholders, the rebrand introduces a refined visual system inspired by the Norfolk landscape, a stronger verbal identity, and a more cohesive strategy designed to support the university's national and international ambitions.
Visitors decide whether they trust a site in about 0.05 seconds, long before a single word gets read, and copy rarely undoes that snap judgment.
3D artist Andres Zambrano works in ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Unreal Engine 5, and Blender, chasing handcrafted detail and dramatic lighting on heroic figures.
Turbopack's chunker balances fewer requests against over-shipping code by merging small chunks only within route chunk groups and weighting single-page versus multi-page sessions. On nextjs.org, its defaults reduced 96 requests to 38 while slightly cutting downloaded JavaScript from 561.6 KiB to 554.8 KiB. Next.js 16.3 adds experimental cache-aware component chunks, analytics-informed route priorities and clusters, CommonJS tree shaking, a shared runtime, and a lighter default runtime.
The browser's main thread runs JavaScript, handles input, and performs most of the rendering pipeline, leaving roughly 10ms of usable time per frame on a 60Hz display. Any task over 50ms risks visible jank. This guide shows how to split work around frame budgets, batch noisy events with debounce or throttle, prioritize and defer tasks, move animation to the compositor, use workers for atomic heavy work, and eliminate unnecessary computation.
Three-LLM runs GPT-2, SmolLM2, Qwen, and Phi models locally in the browser by translating their inference graphs into Three.js TSL compute shaders on WebGPU, loading ordinary Hugging Face configs, tokenizers, and SafeTensors without a server-side inference runtime. This post walks through token generation, KV caches, architecture differences, and the optimizations that mattered: one command submission raised TinyStories decoding from about 120 to 566 tokens per second.
Coding agents are making years of specialized frontend knowledge far less scarce. When Claude can correctly diagnose high style-recalculation costs from a trace, the incentive to master or teach every browser-performance detail changes. Judgment, taste, and expert verification are expected to remain valuable for now, but treating AI as an asteroid-sized disruption is more realistic than ignoring how quickly frontend education and careers are being reshaped.
A small group of giant, post-VC investment firms have become what the author calls "Cancer Capital": multi-strategy funds that collect enormous management fees, face less exposure to startup outcomes, and use capital to concentrate political and economic power. He says this shift has flipped the founder-investor relationship, distorted startup incentives, enabled early cash-outs before public-market accountability, and pushed risk onto pension funds and ordinary investors.

OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra targets computer use, coding, science, cybersecurity, and professional work, scoring 72.6% on OSWorld 2.0, 57.9% on Terminal-Bench 4.0, and 97.6% on FrontierMath Tier 4. In Codex, it can keep searchable notes across context windows, while OpenAI says the model stays within the authorized scope more reliably. API pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, with broader ChatGPT and API availability rolling out after a limited launch.
WebLLM runs open-source language models entirely inside the browser using WebGPU, with no server required and an OpenAI-compatible API for streaming, JSON mode, and other chat-completion features. It supports model families including Llama, Phi, Gemma, Mistral, and Qwen, plus npm or CDN installation, multiple browser cache backends, and Web Worker or Service Worker engines that keep inference from blocking the UI.
Astra is reportedly a looped transformer, reusing layers along the depth axis rather than carrying an unbounded hidden state across tokens like a classic RNN. The author finds the current design less alarming because its serial depth is reportedly within 2× of GPT-4, but worries that loop count could become an easy performance dial and accelerate a shift toward opaque reasoning that weakens chain-of-thought monitoring.
Polished robot demos can hide cherry-picked successes, carefully staged environments, slow operation, and poor reliability. The checklist spans dexterous hands, tactile sensing, visual understanding, planning and replanning, balance, strength, endurance, power, maintenance, safety, data collection, simulation gaps, manufacturing, and the economics of deploying machines in messy real-world environments.
Armature ran 16,893 coding-agent sessions across 75 repositories, 1,163 prompt variants, four developer personas, and Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to see which third-party tools agents actually implemented. Among 5,292 published valid sessions, the agents agreed only 42% of the time: Codex searched the web in 94% of sessions, Claude Code built in-house nearly twice as often, and repository language strongly changed winners such as Resend on TypeScript, SendGrid on Python, Postmark on Go, and Azure ACS on Java.

Artificial Analysis finds Astra scores 67 on its Coding Agent Index with roughly one-third of GPT-5.6 Sol's tokens, but its 2.5× higher prices make max-effort Intelligence Index tasks 75% more expensive despite about 10% fewer output tokens.
This essay reframes the Hugging Face incident as an off-leash evaluation failure involving impossible tasks, disabled safeguards, an exploitable Artifactory bridge, and many similar instances of one model—not independent AI civilizations spontaneously going rogue.
A real MySQL query fell from 1h43m to 40ms when a chain-scoping predicate was pushed into a derived table, avoiding materialization for 6.57 million stores and a walk over 491 million index entries without changing the schema.
Xanadu's visionary hypertext ideas stalled because the project rarely iterated on real use cases or usability, leaving an elaborate side-by-side transclusion interface that was visually cluttered and largely a solution in search of a problem.
