UTAH FILES CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST KALSHI AND EXECUTIVES

Utah's attorney general charged Kalshi, CEO Tarek Mansour, and COO Luana Lopes Lara with promoting illegal online gambling, including letting an undercover agent place wagers. It follows the state's civil suit on October 20. The CFTC sued Utah on Tuesday to block enforcement against prediction markets, and has sued at least 10 states. Kalshi's own February suit against Utah failed when a judge ruled federal law didn't preempt state enforcement.

TOKENIZED GOOGL DROPS NEARLY 12% ALONGSIDE AFTER-HOURS STOCK SELLOFF

Tokenized GOOGL fell nearly 12% on-chain as Alphabet shares sold off after earnings, with a Uniswap pool processing roughly $603,000 in volume over five minutes during the repricing. The near-instantaneous price adjustment shows that on-chain tokenized equity pools can track TradFi price events in real time, without waiting for the next trading session. The $603,000 in five-minute Uniswap volume also reveals the depth constraints of current tokenized equity infrastructure, where thin liquidity amplifies price swings relative to the underlying stock's exchange order book.

OKXICE OBJECTIONS RISE TO 33 AS STOCK-TOKEN LINEUP SHRINKS

OKX's tokenized equities venue OKXICE (xStocks) has received 33 issuer objections covering 31 of its 63 originally proposed symbols, leaving only 32 symbols without a disclosed objection ahead of launch. Public company issuers are opposing the listing of their equity without explicit consent, forcing OKX to trim the tradable universe before trading opens. The attrition exposes the consent gap RWA stock-token platforms face when listing securities without formal issuer authorization, a friction that could constrain the tokenized equities market to willing issuers rather than the full public-equity universe.

VANECK LAUNCHES DIVERSIFIED ETF COMBINING STOCKS, BONDS AND BITCOIN

VanEck listed the Wealth Builder ETF (NYSE: WBMO), an actively managed fund-of-funds blending stocks, bonds, gold, and real assets with a 2% Bitcoin target (1%-5% permitted range), on NYSE, with BTC exposure routed through a spot Bitcoin ETP rather than direct coin holdings. The product converts VanEck's existing adviser-only Wealth Builder model portfolios into a publicly tradeable wrapper, with VanEck retaining discretion over allocations and rebalancing. VanEck positions Bitcoin as a scarce, non-sovereign complement to gold for purchasing-power protection, drawing on a $244.1 billion AUM base as of September 30. The launch continues a distribution push that began in March, when VanEck partnered with retirement platform Basic Capital to offer its digital asset ETPs inside US employer 401(k) plans.

MORE AMERICANS HAVE TRIED CRYPTO, BUT FEW ARE STICKING WITH IT

A survey of 1,545 US adults, commissioned by the DeFi Education Fund, shows lifetime crypto ownership rising to 22% from 18%, yet active past-year usage held flat at 13%, pointing to a retention problem more than an awareness gap. The lifetime figure grew because lapsed users returned: among respondents who had not used crypto in the past year, 11% reported prior ownership, up from 5% a year ago, while new-user entry did not accelerate. Trust in crypto exchanges (4% high trust) and decentralized platforms (5%) sits far below the 42-48% high-trust ratings earned by banks and credit unions, and DeFi familiarity registers at just 2% "very familiar." Despite the GENIUS Act establishing federal stablecoin rules, stated interest in learning about stablecoins fell to 7% from 11%, and DeFi interest dropped to 8% from 11%, showing that regulatory clarity has not translated into consumer engagement.

ETHENA PAY'S 12% EARN+: WHAT'S BEHIND THE YIELD

Ethena Pay is only the interface, and funds move to an Upshift vault curated by Steakhouse. The strategy supplies USDe on Aave V4 on Avalanche, borrows USDT, swaps to more USDe, and repeats, at about 11x leverage. Base USDe supply yield is about 0%, so the 12% comes almost entirely from Merkl incentives and would be deeply negative without them. Risks include liquidation if USDe or USDT dislocate (USDe briefly hit about $0.65 on Binance in Oct. 2025), incentives ending or diluting, and smart contract risk.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SPEND FOR CRYPTO CARDS TO PAY FOR THEMSELVES

This post compares six paid crypto card tiers against their free versions to find the monthly spend needed to cover the annual fee. The cheapest are MetaMask Metal ($199 a year, break-even $829 a month, 3% vs 1% cashback capped at $10K a year) and Plasma One Core ($199, $900 a month, with rewards paid in XPL). In the middle are ether.fi Luxe ($199, $2,829 a month), ether.fi Pinnacle ($999, $5,530 a month) and KAST Premium ($1,000, $5,667 a month). The extreme case is KAST Private at $10,000 a year, which needs $28,778 a month, or over $345K a year in card spending. KAST cashback can't be withdrawn and may expire, and ether.fi and Plasma pay in tokens (ETHFI and XPL), so token prices change your real return.

BITCOIN DIPS BELOW $80,000 AS SAMSUNG-LED TECH JITTERS AND A HAWKISH FED WEIGH ON CRYPTO

Bitcoin fell from $81,700 to $79,800 during Thursday's Asian session after Samsung shares dropped over 5% on a chip-division profit miss (106.5 trillion won versus 108.5 trillion won expected), pulling the Kospi down 2% and Nasdaq futures down 1.4%. The Federal Reserve's hawkish hold at 3.75-4% added pressure, with Chair Kevin Warsh citing persistent inflation and ING forecasting a December rate hike following September's increase. $356 million in crypto futures liquidated over 24 hours, including $205 million from long positions, with BTC futures accounting for $94 million and ETH for $72 million. Elevated real yields reduce the speculative capital pool, and a December Fed hike would tighten that constraint into year-end.
