SPOT BITCOIN ETF RECEIVES OFFICIAL APPROVAL FROM THE SEC
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the nation's first regulated spot Bitcoin ETFs, allowing investors to gain direct exposure to Bitcoin's price without owning the cryptocurrency. Applications from 21Shares, Invesco Galaxy, VanEck, WisdomTree, Fidelity, Valkyrie, BlackRock, Grayscale, Bitwise, Hashdex, and Franklin Templeton were approved and now can be listed and traded on exchanges. The SEC has consistently denied all bitcoin ETF requests in the past, but it was forced to revisit its position after Grayscale won a court case in 2023 that overturned its denial of an application.
