WHATSAPP GROUP CHATS GET PERMANENT MESSAGE PINS, PRIVATE STATUS UPDATES, AND MORE

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

WhatsApp is adding four features designed to make busy group conversations easier to manage, including permanent message pins and Group Status updates visible only to members of a particular group. A new filter collects unread conversations containing mentions, direct replies, or @all messages so users can quickly find messages that need their attention. Recent message history can also now be shared with someone after they have joined a group, helping new members catch up without exposing older conversations automatically.
