Every board takes its own route through the factory, which has machines that print solder paste, place parts, reflow, solder, and inspect. With The Grid, printing one unit of 100 designs is as easy as printing 100 units of one, and prototypes and production batches run on the same machines. It allows companies to manufacture huge numbers of low-volume boards, and could help bring manufacturing back to the US.
