3 DESIGN PRINCIPLES IN THE AI AGE

Three enduring principles remain essential to good design despite AI dramatically accelerating creative work: iteration, feedback, and connecting the dots. Faster generation makes exploring alternatives cheaper, but quality still requires repeated refinement, diverse human perspectives, and judgment about which feedback matters rather than accepting AI's first answer or treating it as the only critic. Designers also need time away from production to process accumulated knowledge and recognize larger connections, because AI can generate faster than humans can meaningfully reflect.
