Summary from the TLDR newsletter
The most important tech companies are much larger than their original markets. They not only expand their market, but make their own markets as well. They change what it takes to participate in the industry and create shared infrastructure out of their competitors' businesses. This allows an ecosystem of new companies to form that both win in the market and are dependent on them.
