THE DEATH OF THE BUTTON: WHY THE BEST INTERFACE IS NO INTERFACE

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

A new wave of "Intent-Driven Design" replaces multi-step point-and-click interfaces with tools that capture a user's goal and execute the steps invisibly. Perplexity AI synthesizes answers instead of ten blue links, Vercel v0 generates full interfaces from a text prompt, and Goblin.tools breaks overwhelming tasks into checklists. This shift rests on contextual goals, generative UI, and agent execution, but risks a loss of control and opaque "black box" decisions needing transparent feedback.
