Platformatic found that enabling V8 pointer compression in Node.js cuts memory usage roughly in half with barely any latency hit, and the p99 latency actually gets better because the garbage collector has less work to do. If you're running Node on Kubernetes, this basically means you can double your pod density or halve your infrastructure bill with a flag change.
