SOLANA VALIDATORS PATCH UNLIMITED TOKEN MINTING BUG

Solana validators quietly patched a zero-day vulnerability in the ElGamal Proof program, used for confidential token transfers. The bug could have enabled malicious actors to mint unlimited tokens or drain accounts through forged zero-knowledge proofs. Despite the feature being live since October 2023, adoption has been minimal. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko defended the rapid, private fix.
