GEMINI AI GLASSES COULD FINALLY JUSTIFY GOOGLE'S OBSESSION WITH EYEWEAR

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

Google is developing prototype smart glasses integrated with its Gemini AI, Project Astra. These glasses aim to provide real-time assistance like directions and language translations through an always-on virtual assistant. A small group of testers will evaluate these glasses alongside an Android phone version to enhance hands-free AI interactions. Google has also introduced Android XR, a new operating system for smart glasses and headsets, enabling developers to create apps and games for upcoming devices.
