TOOLTIP BEST PRACTICES

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

Tooltips are non-interactive text overlays that provide labels or descriptions for UI elements. they are usually activated by hover or focus. Accessible tooltips use aria-labelledby or aria-describedby for screen readers. It is necessary to avoid essential content in tooltips and consider alternatives for touch devices. Toggletips, often interactive, work well for providing additional information via a dialog.
