USING A PROTO-PERSONA FOR UX DESIGN

Proto-personas are assumption-based representations of users, unlike traditional user personas rooted in research. While less reliable, they provide a starting point for design decisions when research is limited. Proto-personas help prioritize assumptions, guide research, and enable faster progress, but they should be replaced with validated personas for critical projects.
