JUST ADD WATER: GROW YOUR OWN FURNITURE WITH THESE POP-UP SPONGE DESIGNS

Summary from the TLDR Design newsletter

A team of industrial designers has prototyped a furniture collection that dramatically transforms flat sheets into fully functional objects. Recognizing the high demand for online commerce and the inefficiency of shipping large furniture items, the team developed a line of collapsible stools, chairs, wine racks, and other products made from cellulose sponges. These products can be flattened and dried to fit into standard envelopes.
