Cookie permissions must follow the law and balance, respecting user privacy and being user-friendly. Designers should make the cookie options clear and available immediately, avoid using deceptive UI patterns, use plain language, use bullet points to describe each cookie, minimize the size of cookie overlays, and only use one overlay at a time.
